A late night gem that’s great for food after the bar. Service is hit or miss but I also wouldn’t want to be serving at 2:30 am. Their chicken fried steak is a classic. I’ve had everything from chipped beef over toast, to omelettes, to burgers patty melts. All pretty good! I’ve heard decent things about their breakfast in the morning too.
A place where you are not quiet, a lot of people, from where I was sitting you can see the kitchen and the hygiene was zero, they rinsed the cutlery and took it out again, the waitress with warts on her neck is very unpleasant, rude and unfriendly

I put 1 star because Google doesn't allow me to put 0 stars or negative number which should allow. I would not recommend this place because the customer service was terrible. The waiter who served us on October 6, 2014, at 8:00 am was rude, disrespectful, and spoke poorly and aggressively. The food was also not up to standard.

I always strive to communicate assertively, highlighting the best situations and people. However, it was impossible to do so in this place. When we visited this place for breakfast on October 5, 2024, between 7:30 and 8:30 am, we had a bad experience. We were served by a guy who didn't even bother to say good morning. He only asked us what we wanted to drink, and while we were deciding, he left and returned to ask if we were ready. When we asked for recommendations, he impatiently asked if we were ready. The food we ordered was disappointing and not delicious. The man never offered us refills or checked on us. When it was time to pay, he rudely threw the bill on the table and aggressively handed us the card machine. He then stopped the transaction without saying goodbye. His behavior was aggressive, disdainful, rude, and vulgar. It was a total disappointment. Someone who spreads unhappiness, bitterness, and negative energy and is not assertive should not work in customer service.

Went yesterday had biscuits and gravy for my first time as I am from the UK absolutely loved it will be back for more before I leave staff are lovely and friendly ime in hotel over the road so will be using regularly

Pinecrest Diner located downtown SF is a 24 hour diner and a spot that everyone goes for late night eats after going out drinking. There are some hotels nearby as well so people come here too. It was busy on a Friday night at 2am. The servers work as fast as they can and the food isn’t bad. We got a breakfast item that I can’t remember with eggs and chicken and we got a mac and cheese chicken pasta. It didn’t take long to get seated and lots of people were eating too. There’s street parking and you should be sure to check the signs for street cleaning because it is very easy to get a ticket there as there are a lot of patrollers.
