Like many restaurants recovering from the pandemic, OneMarket has been hit or miss in terms of food and service, but our experience last night was pretty amazing. Our party had ordered the pan-seared halibut and the corn-cream filled agnolotti, and both dishes were incredible.
Lunch is your best bet here -- menu includes more options (sandwiches, for example, and some drink specials), and prices are lower than dinner. I tend to think prices are too high scross the board, but that's true for most restaurants in San Francisco these days. Food and service at OM is always excellent -- I've eaten here many times over the years.
I've lived in SF for over 40 years and One Market is my go-to restaurant. Today was a Vintner's lunch. The saffron risotto special with shrimp and chorizo was to die for!
We had an excellent meal at Market One before our play last night. Cocktails and wine by the glass were good, but the food, service, and ambiance were superb. We shared the octopus to begin, which was so tender and mouthwatering. Next we each had the peach salad, which was wonderfully balanced with a wide variety of flavors and beautifully prepared. It was a good size salad and we could have shared, but it was just to good I gave up my dessert for the extra salad size. I had the halibut, which was perfectly cooked and paired with wonderful sauces and sides. My husband had the bacon wrapped pork which was good and a large portion... perfectly cooked. They have partnered with the BroadwaySF, so we will definitely be making this a pre-show favorite! Sitting at a window booth with a view of the Ferry Building, lawn, and the bay was very special. Our wait staff were great and the ambiance of the dining room made it a special night.
Great food. Only down note is the waiter was like cold water. Distant, formulaic, unresponsive to friendly conversation. The server who brought the food was much more congenial. Roasted peach salad was a delight. We reserved for a celebration but no one asked about it.
Very welcoming upon arrival. Seated right away at a nice window booth. It was our anniversary and the staff treated us so well. Time between cocktails, salad and main course, unlike many other restaurants that hurry the restaurant process. To our surprise, our wonderful server brought us an anniversary butterscotch pudding desert! We will be back on out next SF trip
The food and service at one market are consistently good, and it is a wonderful place for lunch as well as dinner. Everything was good and I highly recommend it for a lovely meal at any time.
Visited for lunch. Lunch cocktail was well made and attractive. My party ordered sandwiches. Pastrami Reuben was properly made and passable. 12 hour smoked brisket was a miserable--simply dry slices of smoked brisket on partially stale untoasted grocery store rye bread. The whole ensemble was so dry I had to wash it down with water. On the other hand our server was professional and attentive--perhaps beyond the overall quality of the restaurant.
We had a fabulous time, chef Mark is amazing, every course and dish we ordered was perfectly prepared. Tonya, their award winning sommelier, gave an amazing recommendation for a French varietal that paired perfectly with our lunch. Can't wait to go again soon.
Excellent fried chicken. Mashed potatoes were cold. Waiter forgot to give us a plate. Cocktail overpriced—cactus margarita had little tequila. Bi am underwhelmed. Disappointed in their price increase. Not a good value.

A very nice lunch for a group of six people. The brisket and pastrami sandwich was excellent. We enjoyed the solid $8 cocktails and watching the vintage F streetcars passing by the windows.
Almost from beginning to end, perfect. Little quibble with the happy hour drink charges. $9 for some mixed drinks, but if order a martini rather than on the rocks, $3 up charge, then $1 for wellness or whatever it is called, then tax---so now at 15 or so. Outside that, perfect--- Tonya, the host, sommelier, is so warm and charming. Our waiter, whose name I did not get (slight limp maybe---no shade intended here of course)---, and the bus persons, great. Food, again, excellent. Why this place is not full all the time is a mystery. We had the octopus, lamb and the apple dessert. None could have been better.
I can now see why there were so many empty tables. Services was very poor as if the customers were an imposition on the staff. Other than the latkes, the sandwiches were like cafeteria food and left much to be desired. Not planning on returning nor recommend once great eatery, sad but true!
We greatly enjoyed One Market. Great ambiance and view. Excellent service. The halibut was exquisite--it was beautifully cooked and the pea shoots, English peas and kaffir-carrot emulsion was a perfect compliment to the fish. My husband had the crispy fried chicken, which he declared to be delicious--the only problem was that there was not enough dark meat. We will definitely be back.
Great location and great ambiance. Went there for lunch and was left feeling only slightly satisfied. It seemed like there was only one server and we had to wait a bit to order. The food was under seasoned. However, the chickpea fries and the Reuben Latkes were really good.
