Our absolute favorite. Right in SF - so convenient. Best shave ice EVER. We feel so lucky to live in the Bay Area where desserts we grew up eating are available to us. Thank you!

I feel it's quite rare in SF, in fact I don't think there's anywhere else that has this type of fluffy shaved snow so the uniqueness is definitely there. The shop is pretty small, clearly a to-go type of deal which works out fine since parking is a pain in the area. They do have fun flavors, not sure if they rotate them but my favorite is the black sesame with the mochi. It's super fluffy, quite the opposite from your usual shaved ice. It is on the pricier side, each one averages a little over $6 for a large and another $0.50 for toppings, and the large is actually rather small imo. Occasionally the service can be quite slow but if you come on a weekday and off busy hours, you should be fine since everyone grabs and goes.

I got the Vietnamese coffee snow with condensed milk and mochi and it was sooo good! I love getting a sweet treat after dinner and this really hit the spot. The staff were very friendly and we didn't have to wait too long for them to make our order. I would definitely come back!

Powder is my go to spot in San Francisco. It’s the only dessert place in the city that does Bingsoo right. Unlike other Bingsoo places that shave the ice and put the flavoring on top, powder infuses the flavor in the actual ice, leading to a perfect bite every time. Definitely recommend the black

The snow was good.. plenty of toppings, got the large black sesame, mochi, strawberry, and sweet glaze. $6.50 for large and .50 cents for each topping. It's a tiny place with one bench against the wall for seating, But i think more patio seating but it was raining. Just delayed service and a bit of attitude from the person taking my order for less stars. and not the most velvety snow i've had but pretty velvety. Parking is also difficult - street parking only.

Had to top off a cold SF day with dessert and no better way than to get some shaved ice. It's a fairly small shop with only one bench to sit on. Otherwise, would not really be good for big groups. Their menu consists of a lot of fruity and tea flavors. I opted for the Valencia Horchata which came with cinnamon sugar, sweet milk glaze, sliced almond and chocolate. I loved how the almonds gave it some texture and the chocolate paired well with the horchata shaved ice. It tasted just like a horchata with a little twist. Don't know if it was because it was cold, but it also didn't melt too fast. They did a good job layering all the toppings so it's not just what you eat at the top. Overall, I love how it just melted flavor onto my tongue. Would come back to try the other flavors!

Omg so delicious. It’s the best kind of shaved ice cream where you’re eating the lightest fluffiest ice cream as opposed to flavored ice cream. Love the black sesame and cereal milk flavors. High quality toppings too.

What do you do in SF when the temperature goes below 50°? You get shaved snow! So cold, yet so delicious. Each bite is so flavorful! Small little store front but quick service. And it's fresh! The blocks of flavored ice are shaved right in front of you! This is definitely a place worth going back to again and again to try all the flavors!

Favorite shaved snow place in the city, it's a soft shaved "snow" because of its smooth creamy texture. My go to is the matcha with condensed milk + mochi/strawberries. Like the menu options because there's everything from traditional flavors to more unique ones like passion fruit &. black sesame. It can be hard to find street parking so def try to take public transit or walk if you're close enough in the city.

I love the concept of this place! I grew up in a place where these choose-your-own shaved ice places were aplenty and looked for them all over the Bay Area. Powder fits the bill perfectly with their large selection of shaved ice flavors and toppings. I visited just after sunset on a cold night so it was empty inside and it looked like the staff wasn't expecting business either because they didn't seem to pay me any attention while I read the menu. When I walked up to the counter to order, someone took my order and made my food promptly but I felt like I was interrupting something the whole time because staff kept walking in and out of the store without looking at me or saying anything. Note that there is no indoor seating so if you're visiting on a cold day like me you'll have to take it to go! There is a parklet just outside reserved for Powder customers but no heaters. I imagine it's a much better experience on a hot summer day and I look forward to trying their shaved ice again then.
