Great location next to the park. Sandwich had really fresh ingredients and great bread. Very casual atmosphere with lots of light.
Good food, coffee, and friendly staff. This is a great place to come work and/or meet up people to catch up.
Surprisingly excellent cafe next to a surprisingly great park. Usually stick to more ‘SF’-ey items like the breakfast sandwich With a cheesy, buttery scramble that hits the spot. Coffee can also be excellent, or burnt depending on the barista. Seems to fly under the radar as most of the clientele are unlikely to notice. The decor is eclectic which is perfect for the random demographic that Bernal seems to attract
I’ve been coming here for 3 years and I love it! Great food, super fast service and it’s very conveniently located next to Precita Park, where my dog can run and stretch his legs! It’s the only place close by that opens before 8am, which is early, but the coffee helps!
My sandwich was definitely NOT gluten free. I asked if the grilled cheese sandwich could be made on gluten free bread and the server told me it could. It was brought out covered in chips which I asked if they were gluten free but the server didn’t know so had to check the pack (this alone made me nervous about the staffs knowledge of gluten and contamination). It was a delicious sandwich but resulted in me throwing up for hours on the side of the freeway and I ended up collapsing in a McDonalds bathroom from dehydration. I do understand about cross contamination in a kitchen like this. But this is what happens to me when I ingest enough gluten. This is more a note for management to understand the seriousness of giving coeliacs gluten and also to better inform your staff about the risks. I would not be comfortable eating here again after my experience.
This café's food and staff are amazing. The wait wasn't long before someone helped us and it wasn't a long wait time to get our drinks and food.
And it's cute in a nice neighborhood. Pretty peaceful.
Monday morning, 11:30 am, wandered in and started studying the large menu board. I asked if I could still get breakfast and when I was told "there's breakfast all day!" I was soooo excited. Some places are really finicky about that. There were a couple of specials in addition to the big board on the wall, so after looking at every.single.thing, I chose the Totaquiles. Black beans normally come with it but I opted out of those. The tots were great and the sauce that came on them was even greater LOL. A perfectly fried egg, where the yolk was just runny enough to mix perfectly with the rest of the flavors of the sauce and crema.
Also, got a cubano coffee which I had never had and includes sweetened condensed milk, cinnamon, and my choice of milk (I chose oat). It was as big as my head. And it was delicious.
The space is really light and bright and there are tables outside as well. It's on a cool tri-corner so lots to watch outside their big windows. Plus the staff is super friendly and helpful. Can't wait to go back and work my way through the giant menu!

Good food
Get the Totaquilles and fresh squeezed orange juice. They are fresh and amazing. There’s a little spice to the totaquilles but nothing crazy. So good!!! The mocha was pretty good too.

This place is very slow. If you are coming with your kids make sure to bring lots of time for waiting or don't order food.
