Delicious Thai food. We were so pleased to find a Thai restaurant where sweet is not a prominent profile in their food. We loved the sour pork, the banana blossom and squid, the eggplant, and the beef jungle curry - they were delicious and had so many little creative touches. The highlight of the meal for me was the smoked young coconut ice cream. So many nostalgic flavors that I have not had outside of Thailand. The Thai smoked candle flavor, the candied water palm fruit, the young rice syrup - just so special. Such a joy to be able to have this in San Francisco. Brought me back to precious moments in Thailand visiting family.

Rotating, seasonal menu.
The duck at Prik Hom is the best I ever had. Definitely better than any French restaurant in SF. The basil eggplant was really good and the smoked coconut ice cream will make you kneel down and say many, many prayers. It has lots of well balanced and unexpected flavors and textures.

Hits and big misses here. Apps were decent. Fermented pork/crispy rice being the star; mains were weird and not good in my opinion. The duck curry was way too sweet (with cherries and grapes??) the branzino tasted like something served at a monastery that was intent on not using any modern day seasonings or cooking methods.
The shrimp was utterly forgettable
The young coconut ice cream (not pictured) was the best dessert I've had at a restaurant. The mix of smoke and flavor textures of the fresh coconut and shaved ice cream/sweet rice was soooo incredible. I would come back just for that!
Otherwise, I would not eat here again.

food was good and i will come back when in town. the only complaint was they charged 20% gratitude without notifying. In the menu, it says 20% gratitude was charged for 6 or more ppl but we were only two. though I was planning to tip 20% but it is still very disappointing
oh, rice smells better than tasting, was expecting something better than that

Sooooo good - every dish was perfect. Only complaint is the portion sizes were a bit small for the price, but the food was so good we didn’t mind. Our server was also super attentive and helpful/knowledgeable

Very oily and overburnt dishes, not sure why people like it, thai food is really good but this was very low quality food

While this spot is generally considered one of the best Thai spots in the city, I found it to be a bit over rated. Service was just ok and the food was disappointing. The beef curry was good but not as good as it should be considering the price. The beef wasn’t as tender as it should be and the curry was mismatched with fats and spices, generally a bit flat on flavor. Scallops were very good and had subtle Thai flavors that meshed very well with the scallop’s natural flavor. Fried chicken was my least favorite and completely not worth it. I’m not sure what happened here but very little expected flavor and zero exciting or inspiring flavor. Bland is best to describe.
Wine selection was very good. Presentation was beautiful for each dish. Seems like something potential changed, or maybe it was just the day after Valentine’s Day and the team had enough.

Underwhelming Fine Dining Experience for Valentine’s day special.
For a $100 per person fine dining meal, I expected far better. My wife and I, both pescatarians, wanted to select the vegetarian option, only to be told at dinner that it wasn’t available. No prior notice was given about pre-selecting meals, forcing the kitchen to scramble for substitutes.
Service was disappointingly slow—only two servers for ten tables—leaving us waiting for over two hours.
Food-wise, the Gio shrimp and another shrimp dish were solid (8/10), but the octopus was tough, old and fatty (2/10), and the fish was overcooked and not fresh as well (3/10).
The one saving grace? Dessert. The mango sticky rice was phenomenal (10/10).
At this price point, the inconsistency in service and food quality is hard to overlook. Definitely not worth the cost.

The food here is very good. Everything we ordered was great except for the coconut ice cream for dessert which was awful as it tasted like a candle. Like, literally a candle. It was really disgusting.
The stars of the meal were black cod, beef, Tom kha mushroom soup. It was all very good and we enjoyed it very much. I wish they had better lighting and I hoped for better ambience but that’s where the restaurant lacks…
The pricing is OK for SF and the overall quantity is fine…
I would go back again but will not be ordering the coconut ice cream dessert.
