Took a flight to San Francisco and was starving. Walked around before deciding on proper Food. Had the chicken pozole and fresh yogurt.I was too brown to speak! the Pozole was actually good and not offensive to my ancestors. The yogurt Greek yogurt was just the way to end this visit to the airport. It’s a must try for me.

They had many options marked gluten free that looked flavorful and interesting, which is amazing at an airport. I did not eat there or ask questions, but the person I was with enjoyed their gluten free meal, felt confident eating there, and didn't have a gluten reaction.

As the name implies, they have Proper Foods … large collection of salads and wraps. I was surprised at their variety for an airport shot. Enough seating area in its adjacency. I was going to remove one star because they don’t have different sugar packets and sweeteners which would be a basic expectation at places serving tea/coffee, only brown sugar and agave nectar. But then I realize they only serve proper foods, not the fake kinds. Back to five stars.

After traveling through different airports, I was so glad to have proper food options here. I got the salmon teriyaki with broccoli and brown rice, and coconut chai pudding. Food was flavorful and high quality - Soy sauce was really good too. Pudding was just the right level of sweetness and hydrating after a 7 hour flight. Made eating a high fiber and healthy meal while traveling hassle free!

Food - 5 Service - 4 Value - 5 Great place to get some fresh and healthy food in SFO. We really enjoyed both the Salmon dish we got and the Turkey Avocado sandwich. The prices were reasonable for airport food, but I know some might find it to be high.

Healthy, fresh meals at the airport! They have tons of sandwiches, bowls and salads, all of which can be heated up at the counter. I really enjoyed my breakfast bowl with eggs, sweet potatoes and mushrooms. A staff member heated the bowl up for me, sans the cheese, and then put some foil on top, and I was on my way. Friendly service, healthy food and (relatively) affordable food at the airport--you can't beat it.

Wandering through Embarcadero Center, we came upon this very nice grab and go breakfast/lunch place primarily geared for the office workers in the area. Stroll right in and you'll find a brightly lit interior with a grab n go cold case along one wall full of great to-go prepackaged breakfast and lunch entrees. Mmm.. sooo many choices...The staff is friendly and greeted me with smiles and good energy! All the food choices here are very high quality, with honest natural ingredients and quite realistically sized in terms of proportion. Not too much, not too little, but just right so as not to overstuff you that you fall asleep into a food coma back at your desk. I picked up the Mediterranean Steak "Hot Plate" which they could have heated up for me in seconds, but I decided instead to take it back home first to eat later, as we just had brunch across the street. The steak was a hanger steak pre sliced thinly, lightly marinated and prepared basically rare to medium rare at best, so that you could cook it up to your desired tenderness as you wish. Served over a bed of saffron rice and accompanied by roasted garlic kale (healthy! =), red peppers, caramelized onions and feta cheese with a tahini sauce in a little plastic jar inside. It was great, and I'd come back here again for this or for many other menu choices if I find myself anywhere near here. =). All in all, this is a great place for a guilt-free healthy and delicious light meal!

I used to eat at Proper Food all the time when I worked in SF. Tasty, healthy and very convenient to pick up. I am also an Andrew Weil fan and am happy to support them.I was thrilled to see this location at SFO. I got the chicken teriyaki bowl and the yogurt parfait. I wish there was one at every airport.

I wanted to pay the 56$ bill with a 100$ note, and the lady at checkout almost insulted me and told me they didn’t get 100$ notes. Quite arrogant. I gave up and went to another shop close by, where they got my 100$ note and I got my change (and my food!). The attitude is also part of the service and being arrogant with a customer does not pay. Never again to this shop.

Flying from SF to NYC earlier this month, I needed food to hold me over until I landed at my stomping grounds -- Brooklyn!Located near the JetBlue gate in Terminal 1, I settled on a ham and white cheddar cheese sandwich for a whopping cost of $12.76. A general mill grab and go eatery; the service was quick. I do wanna say for nearly $13, Proper Food could include a bag of chips or drink alongside the sandwich. I get airport food is pricey but this is highway robbery, to be quite frank. That said, I will say the sandwich was good and filling. A bit dry but tasty, nonetheless. I don't know if it's due to a lot of chewing of the hearty sourdough bread, but I was stuffed afterwards. If you're looking for clean ingredients for the most part, this is the place to eat. If you're open to anything, SFO has tons of food options to choose from.
