Proper Food is a grab-and-go eatery located in the Financial District. It is targeted towards workers in the area as it is only open on weekdays during breakfast and lunch. They sell a lot of standard fare like sandwiches and salads, albeit with a gourmet slant. Was visiting my company's SF office, which was housed in the same building and got a light breakfast here. I can imagine this being a default spot if I was working there and needed to grab something quick to eat.

The folks inside were nice despite dealing with a low-grade Karen at the time. I really enjoyed half of my tofu burrito until I found a long hair entangled inside it that turned my stomach. Things happen but maybe wear hairnets? I’ll never be able to eat there again.edit: I want to clarify to the responder that the employees were very nice and they were in the midst of pacifying a rude customer. The place was clean. No issues there. Just a hair in my food. I won’t be emailing you. Just get hairnets. ??

Since departing my office in the FiDi during Covid, I've missed Proper Food on a daily basis. I never thought prepackaged food could be so fresh and delicious.They get their food delivered every single morning right before opening. They have such a wide selection of foods for any and all dietary needs. Everything I have gotten here has been delicious and I am a hard person to please (vegan, generally food neutral).Also, checkout is so quick and easy. No lines, just grab and go. And their prices are really great - $10 and under for most meals.In fact, after writing this, I'm going to make my way to the FiDi to Proper Food for lunch today.

My coworkers and I come here almost every day. It's real food and it's so good. It doesn't weigh me down like a lot of lunch options. I typically get the Spinach salad with chicken and coucous. So good.
Always a great selection of food, they heat it up for you or you can take it away cold. Would recommend going before 2pm as they tend to run out of food

Bought a breakfast burrito here. Tasted OLD, OLD, OLD!!! Burrito was obviously made the day before, maybe even two days before. I bought this burrito so I would not have to cook because I was seriously ill with the flu.Hungry as I was ate 3 bites and threw the rest out. Shameful they would sell food that should have been in the compost bin.I strongly do not recommend this business.
