Proper Food is a grab-and-go eatery located in the Financial District. It is targeted towards workers in the area as it is only open on weekdays during breakfast and lunch. They sell a lot of standard fare like sandwiches and salads, albeit with a gourmet slant. Was visiting my company's SF office, which was housed in the same building and got a light breakfast here. I can imagine this being a default spot if I was working there and needed to grab something quick to eat.
The folks inside were nice despite dealing with a low-grade Karen at the time. I really enjoyed half of my tofu burrito until I found a long hair entangled inside it that turned my stomach. Things happen but maybe wear hairnets? I’ll never be able to eat there again.edit: I want to clarify to the responder that the employees were very nice and they were in the midst of pacifying a rude customer. The place was clean. No issues there. Just a hair in my food. I won’t be emailing...
