Good malatang for price point and location. Not a huge fan of the Chinese food in SF but this isn’t too bad
Underrated. Amazing food, not a ton of ambience but cozy. But easily a five star dining experience if you’re into hot pot. Basic but friendly and helpful service.
Lamb skewers are questionable but the make your own hot pot bowl is great
Delicious! Love the concept, all the ingredients were fresh and there was a ton of variety, and the final cooked soup was great! And it's reasonably priced (if you don't go too crazy).
I got the green peppercorn broth with lamb, lotus, cabbage, and lots of mushrooms. Will definitely come back here to try all the other varieties.
a genuine gem in the sunset! Opens late (til 10pm), perfect for chilly nights that yearn for a hot bowl of soup. Price is by weight! It’s $14.99/lb, but you can definitely do less than a lb and have plenty. So, if you’re only craving a small bite - this spot is great.
Notable favs:
- Wide vermicelli glass noodle
- Decent sauce bar (garlic, sesame paste, black vinegar, green onion)
- free iced oolong tea
- the beef rolls, cow throat, pork tendon
I love hotpot, and to have a huge bowl of tomato broth with all of my favorite things for $12? A plate of duck wings for $3? in SF that’s unheard of, but QingShu’s got you.
Watered down soup. Ingredients not fresh
Really good; intimidating to go in if you're not familiar with hotpot; but I went with a friend who deciphered it all for me (even though there's plenty of English instructions and I saw the staff helping someone patiently figure out what to get). The snakehead fish soup was delicious and not at all scary.

The spicy soup is very aromatic and rich (full of fat taste). It’s a little bit too spicy for my stomach but tasty. The pork tripe is not tender enough. They gave us fresh watermelon in the end for free- very kind
And the whole meal is ridiculously cheap even with card payment

My husband and I came here July 2024. He was worried about the previous year-old diarrhea reviews but we took our chances. Unfortunately, he got diarrhea while I didn't. I came here with a vegetarian friend September 2024 and got diarrhea myself, so something is definitely wrong with the meat.
The staff was courteous, eating area looks clean, sauce bar + tea station setup is awesome. There is a wide variety of ingredient choices, if only they were fresh and this would be my go-to malatang spot. Will not risk getting sick again.
