As a highly regarded 3-Michelin Star restaurant, I had been looking forward to dining here but unfortunately I was rather disappointed. Some of the dishes like the edamame soup and pithivier dessert were rather bland and lacked creativity. The fried egg dish was nice, as was the pasta dish. But crucially, the portions were far too small and I left feeling rather hungry, which I don't normally get with Michelin starred restaurants. My lamb main dish was slightly cold, which I don't expect from restaurants of this level. Having paid such an insanely expensive price, I was expecting a lot better.

The cocktail was excellent at Quince! They have a collaboration going on with Bar Agricole currently and the cocktails are really well thought out. Craig is very hospitable!
The service was excellent and all the staff is very friendly and professional. I really enjoyed meeting Neev, the service manager.
The food was very tasty - especially the John Dory. You get great canapés and some sweets in the end as well.
It's a great deal for a 3 Michelin Star restaurant to be able to experience some of the dishes a la carte in the beautiful Salon room.
The interior is beautifully done!

Meh. For $1000 per person, it was just okay. The squab was unappetizing. Service was alright, and the atmosphere was also okay.
Nothing was bad, but also nothing was exceptional. If I paid half the price I’d say it was more interesting, but this place felt like a Gucci store. You pay for exclusivity, not quality.
The best dishes weren’t on the tasing menu. I paid $110 for a pretty standard pasta. Idk, I came in thinking I’d get scammed, so it wasn’t surprising.
Worth going once? Eh. Worth going again? Absolutely not.

An excellent, sustainable restaurant. We enjoyed a fantastic lunch. All dishes on the menu were excellent in terms of taste and of impressive quality. The corresponding wine supported the individual dishes wonderfully. All the employees tried very hard to look after us, were very attentive and always friendly. We had a very nice time at Quince.

Superb dining experience. The food was delicious (of course) but the real magic starts the minute you walk through the door. The service is impeccable from the minute you walk through the door, through to the moment they walk you out. The recent renovation is spectacular - thoughtfully executed in every aspect, all the way down to the oft-ignored sound design (finally a restaurant that doesn’t make me want to crawl out of my skin from the echoing chaos of other diners). Came for a special event, and they included wonderful personalized moments that really took the experience to the next level.

We had a memorable experience at the new Quince last night -- our first time there since the renovation. What struck us most was how well we felt cared for from the moment we walked in until the moment we left. If you think about it, this is something at which precious few establishments of any kind succeed. Yes, the food is spectacular and beautiful; yes the new dining room is gorgeous; but at every step, we felt the individual with whom we were interacting wanted to do whatever they could to make sure our experience was pleasurable. They were not working by rote. This means the restaurant has gone to great trouble to hire exactly the kind of individuals to whom this comes naturally. To be invited to enjoy one of our 10 courses in the midst of the kitchen, and for the chefs to answer our questions and joke around a bit was something I've never even heard of before. And when we expressed our delight at the fine Japanese glassware, our server brought out an example of every different piece they had to show us the various shapes. Of course, the name of the craftsman was written out and included in our bag at the end of the evening. This is individual service the likes of which we so rarely encounter, even in the very, very finest establishments anywhere in the world. Thank you to each member of the large and dedicated team at Quince for making our first return visit so special. We cannot wait to schedule a repeat visit.

⚠️DO NOT GO TO Quince without a reservation as the experience offered to you will be subpar and immensely disappointing to the point that it actually felt CRUEL [final bill approx $500].
From my experience working previously at this rarefied level of supposed “Excellence” a guest should never be disappointed and that is why a business becomes awarded with prestigious honors such as ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ or 🌸🌸🌸 3 Michelin stars.
My BFF took me to Quince to celebrate my Birthday last night 10/16/24 & since we did not have a reservation were sat in the bar [“Salon”]at an awkwardly height corner side table. From this vista my friend & I witnessed cart after cart (honestly choking up now in retrospect realizing how traumatizing and upsetting this was for me) being wheeled past us, to cruelly never 👎🏻 once stop at our pathetic little after-thought table.
[Side Bar on my love affair of Dining Carts: my first experience w/fine dining carts was while I was a Restaurant Coordinator at the Ritz-Carlton SF and chef Gary Danko introduced the marvelous cheese cart. Similarly the sight of the beloved Sundae Cart that was wheeled thru the First Class cabin on transcontinental & international United Airline flights (pre-pandemic). I had heard that Quince featured carts proudly as part of their dining experience and was eagerly looking forward but alas it never stopped for us, even after I expressed to Craig our server that this was really important to me. The answer was a solid “no” similar to any other requests made].
Know that not only are requests denied as standard procedure but to make it even WORST & uncomfortable if you are not a fan of i.e. 🐙 octopus lets say, the menu is NEVER posted online… thus you will be offered a surprise [at technically the most pricey $$$$$ restaurant currently in San Francisco]. Its basically similar to accepting whatever they have to offer you to chose from [no need to travel to dine at a pompous, haughty restaurant in the 6th arrondissement of Paris]. Basically an elegant chic version of the Soup N-a-z-i from Seinfeld.
Oddly, Quince was being operated without the guidance of a Maitre’d / General Manager last night.
After having numerous magical evenings dining at Jean Georges, Per Se, Boulevard, the Pool Room at the Four Seasons, Guy Savoy, Jardinier even the “cafe” Ad Hoc + Addendum amongst many others, its a disservice to mention Quince in the same breath.
Dining disappointment of a lifetime for us both and allow it to be known we do not place blame on Craig who seemed to try his best but he was the one coming back repeatedly with disappointment to share with our little sad side table.

Spent a nice night here at Quince. The service team is super attentive and friendly, they asked all my questions. Warm service beginning from the welcome champagne at the door, till the lemon verbena tea at the door before we go. The newly remodeled dining room is cozy and inviting.
The squash, corn and lamb plates are well-balanced, and I like the refreshing tomato and grape plates. We celebrated birthday here, so there is an additional tiramisu for us.
Wonderful place and super recommend!!
By the way, I saw they invited the guests of the table next to us to the kitchen. Not sure if they are chef‘s friends or randomly picked.

Every dish becomes a work of art in Michael’s hands. Each item is incredibly delicious, and the experience delights all the senses—from the eyes to the palate and beyond. This is a place where you can enjoy a truly exceptional time. There’s nothing more I could wish for. Thank you so much, Michael.

I regret to say this was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a Michelin-star restaurant as a solo diner, and it’s the first time I’ve felt compelled to leave a one-star review.
To start, booking options were very limited for solo diners—I could only secure a bar seat rather than a normal table through the website. As someone who frequently dines solo at high-end restaurants, this was unusual and disappointing. Throughout the meal, I felt largely neglected by the staff. The service fell far short of what I would expect from a Michelin three-star establishment. If solo diners aren’t welcome or properly accommodated, it would be more respectful to simply eliminate that option. As a paying customer, I deserved the same level of attention and respect as any other guest.
The food was also underwhelming, especially considering the high price. The second entrée failed to impress, and the white truffle enhancement dish I paid extra for was surprisingly bland. When dessert arrived, I was given a portion clearly intended for two people, which was overly sweet and, frankly, overwhelming. It felt like an afterthought rather than a carefully crafted end to the meal. This excess completely ruined the experience—I found myself just wanting to leave as soon as possible after that dessert.
Overall, the combination of subpar service and disappointing food left me feeling undervalued as a guest. I would not recommend Quince to other solo diners, and I've been waiting for this opportunity to visit Quince since 2020!! I couldn't be more frustrated after leaving the restaurant and I was supposed to celebrate a special occasion...

Best meal I've ever had in my life and the service was top tier. The lunch tasting menu was very seafood focused, and I don't even really like seafood, but it was wonderful. Even the bread was incredible.

Came to Quince to try their lunch service. The lunch is a four course set menu with a few additional bites at the beginning and petit fours to round out the meal.
The food and service were excellent and surprisingly the pace of the meal was brisk. Was able to finish the entire meal in a little over an hour which is not typical for a fine dining spot where meals typically take 2 to 3 hours.
There is the potential for add one to the set menu. However, for a normal appetite the set menu is enough. The menu was seafood focused. It started off with a caviar crisp, fried anchovy and apple walnut snacks.
The first course was a halibut crudo with a quince green apple. Second course was bay scallops with mushrooms and caviar. The last main course was a lobster course. I enjoyed the scallop course the most followed by the lobster course. For dessert there is a selection of three different desserts. You can choose to try as many as you like so I opted for all three. The chocolate cake was the one I enjoyed the most.
They do take walk ins at the bar but reservations are the way to go. They do require a deposit of the full meal plus a 20% gratuity.
