Friendly staff, welcoming old school dive vibe, and they’ve got all the NFL games so this will be my watering hole for the foreseeable future as I root for my Buffalo Bills from San Francisco.

Very rude bartender.. very unprofessional. Makes you and your friends feel very uncomfortable.
We are locals, we live in the neighborhood and definitely not coming back. Some kindness and empathy would not hurt you. Cheers!

Took the path off the tourist trail and shared some local vibes. If you want the overpriced drink at a predictable bar, stay at Pier 39. If not, check out some local peeps hangout. Won't regret saying hi!

Avoid if you’re a tourist .. not very welcoming, berated if you get the tipping slightly wrong.. wouldn’t mind, but you had to beg for a drink and the tables were sticky.

If you're a tourist avoid this bar. We went in for some drinks and not knowing the tipping etiquette there didn't tip enough (unbeknown to us). The bearded barman couldn't even look us in the eye when we ordered from him. Very rude. AVOID.

This is just a great, simple, local pub with friendly service and an ok beer selection. Arrive with low expectations, leave entirely happy. The Henhouse IPA was superb.
The Red Jack was a nice local bar a few blocks from the San Francisco Wharf area crowded with tourists. The beer was cold and staff friendly. It was worth the effort to find.
Restaurantji Recommends
If you are near Pier 39 but want to escape the madness, this is where I would recommend. Staff here is half of the pie, the regulars are the other, and both make this place so sweet.
Veterans are greatly respected here.
When I lived in SF the Red Jack was my office local. We used to get 20-40 people there every Friday night and it was a riot! Great place.
Played bangers all night
Went there with relatives from Ireland. The told me it felt like a pub back home. That is a great compliment. The bartender was also from Ireland and the back and forth banter between the bartender and my guest (Mainly dealt with the different countries they were from) was hilarious. Had great time.
Great little bar just off Pier 39 and close to local hotels. Excellent selection of drinks and craft beer, and great service from the barman who made me and the Mrs feel very welcome!
Also open late, which is a massive bonus in Fisherman's Wharf!
