Very disappointed. First (and last) time here. The actual menu offered way fewer choices than shown here. I came especially for the borscht but was told it wouldn't be ready for an hour or two. It was 6:30 pm Saturday night. What the? I had the other soup which was “lemon with smoked meats.” It was an oily broth with some sliced thin sausages. Not great. I had the beef blintzes appetizer which were excellent. 2 small ones for $12. My date's grilled chicken with mashed potatoes, for $25 (with nothing else— no greens, no bread) did not seem grilled, and was boring. The mashed potatoes were dull and uninspired. How do you fail on mashed potatoes? The prices were easily 33% higher than shown on this site! The service was friendly but a little slow. The atmosphere was cute and quaint. Only 2 other couples, one speaking Russian. The restaurant had at least two long tables set up for a later banquet. Maybe thats whom they were cooking the borcsht for? And perhaps that's the only way to go. Much too expensive for the quality of the food. Not enough choices. Restaurant need to list the correct prices and have all menu items available when restaurant opens.
We really liked beef stroganoff, schnitzel and goulash. Kompot was good. Golubtcy and zrazy - I never liked them before in general. I really hoped I would change my mind, but that didn't happen. We also had herring and hot tea - these were as expected. And we had an olivier salad, not my favorite version of it, but my husband didn't mind it.

I went to Red Tavern last year while I was attending GDC. The food is phenomenal, the atmosphere is pleasant, and the service is great.
I ordered the blintzes which have beef inside, the potato zrazy, and shared the pelmeni and Russian syrniki with others.

The white staff was very knowledgeable about the menu top 10 best meals I've ever eaten in my life
We have been here before and had wonderful experience. So tonight we brought two friends with us and they raved about it too. The food is really wonderful. It's very clean and very good tasting well spiced everything about it was perfect so thanks guys.
Great Russian food with an authentic Russian vibe. Nice waitstaff and atmos/art, and good food!
That’s almost ok, but actually this is not russian restaurant, because most of meals are ukrainian - borshch, holuptsi, varenyky (pierogi in polish language).

Food is OK, and the service is Russian ?
It’s very sweet Russian decor. My friend were visiting from New Jersey and decided that they would like Russian food. It was a perfect spot and food was fantastic.
