CDFs include art deco decor, original chandeliers and sconces, the tall (still amazingly unpainted) inlay redwood paneling, high ceilings, paneled columns. The high quality replica art by Klimt could use an interpretive panel but we all have smart phones. Mirror-glass bar and swanky furniture is differentiated and somewhat kinda-compatible. DJ and associated playlist technically does not meet the SIS but is removable in the future, thereby the music — while loud and emo — is consistent with standard 10. Good selection of spirits and attentive bartenders and staff. Photogs note: lighting on backbar is heavily backlit, so bring a maglight if you want to read the labels, and clean your camera lens if you want to take a not-smeary picture.

The classic elegant cocktail lounge in San Francisco. Pleasantly quiet on a Wednesday evening.

A nice bar but as it gets later in the night they turn the music up so loud that you end up having to shout at each other. Also after 11pm prostitutes come in demanding drinks from patrons. During the day and early evening it's very pleasant but turns into a hell hole after 9pm.

The bar is nice but my purse was stolen whilst at this bar and a lot of people I know have also had things stolen while at this bar.

Pro: Great classy ambiance with a classier older (Santa's generation) crowd

Con: $25 for a cocktail that's 80% ice

The service here was the absolute worst. Some people need not be working if you do not like service. The drinks were average - maybe the bartender was new to making drinks. The food was just blah. Only reason to go here is if you are staying in this hotel - other wise this is not a destination to go to.

This is more so a nice lounge/bar. Doesn’t have any entrees. Most of the food items listened on the menu online aren’t available. The menu consists of about 5 items that go well with a cocktail.

That being said, the chicken wings were some of the best I’ve had. It was very well seasoned and had a combination of fruit and jalapeños place on top- creating a flavorful of sweet and spicy

Fantastic bar that emanates history and class. High ceilings, rich redwood paneling, original Gustav Klimt paintings, and elegant seating all heighten the experience. Drinks are excellent, and our waitress was friendly and attentive. There was a terrific live jazz ensemble when we were there on a Thursday evening. Definitely worth a visit!
