A quiet retreat while staying in Hotel Nikko.

I got in the restaurant after 10pm. It was a nice restaurant to either hang out or dining alone.

Miso soup was soooo good! Authentic and full of flavor. 10/10 recommended!

Lobster roll was just okay though.

Anzu's sushi is excellent but the other offerings are limited. I was very disappointed to ask for halibut rare and it arrived well done. I envied the black cod my dinner partners ordered which was prepared well. The champagne list is over priced in Richard Alexander's humble opinion. I most appreciate the restaurant coordinating with Feinstein's and holding good seats for a performance. Recommend 6 o'clock dinner for an 8 pm show.

NY steak was not as tender as I was hoping it to be and it was a bit fatty. The squash soup not very creamy. They should add more dishes in their menu.

The new menu is fantastic! The Prix Fixe Menu provides a lot of surprises as to pairing. The extended list of Appetizers permits the diner to create the dinner of his/her choice. The Bar is a consistent anchor to the restaurant. Well done!!!

Visiting San Fransisco for the first time, we went there as a birthday celebration. The restaurant was also close to our hotel. Menu was helpfully explained to us by our server. Starters were great and sonoma chicken was to die for. Nice touch of complimentary sweet for my wife. We will be back.

Very attentive and friendly service. The food were very well prepared and seasoned. The Rock with Waygu was phenomenal. The only complaint is that I can taste the corn starch that was applied to the scallops which leaves a bad aftertaste.

Gorgeous dining room wonderful menu. Great bar, drinks and wine. Most of all, the restaurant space is fantastic, especially as most hotels turn their dining rooms into unappealing bars!

Group of 8 for brunch and it really exceeded expectations. Some did the buffet and some ordered a la carte. Everyone really enjoyed it and service was awesome.

The one word that comes to mind to describe our meal was "exciting!" We started with oysters which included a fun variety (fat boy oysters!) and moved on to The Rock. Nothing about the name or the description on the menu actually coveys how EXCITING this life experience was - cooking your own perfectly sliced waguy on a hot rock bathed in olive oil, accompanied by several dipping/spicing options. Sometimes, all you need is a perfectly seared slice of waguy, and I don't even usually eat red meat. Divine! Even the next course of onion soup was somehow both really comforting and a delightful combination of flavors and textures, including the perfect gruyere cheese. We got two different fish mains and shared them both and each one was outstanding. The thousand year old coconut rice? Why are you so delicious? And the broth that accompanied the miso cod was just the perfect combination of umami scents and flavors. I can't emphasize how good this broth was, but let's just say not a drop was wasted. Even the pineapple cobbler we split for dessert was really well balanced. It's a little difficult to find (on the second floor of Hotel Nikko just off Union Square) but well worth the visit!

Anzu provides Asian Fusion experience near Union Square as well as traditional Japanese favorites to share, especially Sushi Rolls. The staff are friendly and helpful in guiding choices for food and drinks. Enjoy The Experience. The Hotel Nikko is beautiful!!!

I read some reviews that were negative about the Sunday brunch but wanted to see for myself. This isn't a $6 stuff your face fast food dining option. Anzu is a stylish upmarket restaurant and it's brunch has a variety of dishes that should please most guests. Of course there is a Japanese focus with sushi and udon noodles but there are typical brunch dishes including eggs cooked to order, sausage, bacon, smoked salmon. Today's hot dishes included lightly breaded fish, a high end meat loaf and muscovy duck. I rarely see duck included as a brunch item. Everything was delicious, the staff attentive, friendly and polite without being overbearing. I was reminded that dessert was included in the brunch so I opted for the chocolate cake. It was a small molten lava chocolate cake! Great finish to a wonderful meal!
