Marina reviews for ethnic food — take 2 stars off. They don’t do ethnic food in the marina.

Seeing the good reviews I was excited to check this place out and was disappointed, mainly by the food. The pomegranate chicken was drowned in a sweet sauce and was way overcooked. The mashed potatoes were surprisingly sour tasting and I couldn’t eat them. The only thing I liked was the Moussaka, but it also had bad mashed potatoes that weren’t creamy. I’m not sure if it was a bad day, but I was disappointed. The atmosphere and waitress were nice though.

Ricco Mediterranean review: Had a fabulous lunch here today and sad to report, they will be shuttering in three weeks. Every item we tasted on the menu (lunch combo 2 and 3) was superbly fresh and prepared perfectly. Solid portions, good prices. Highly recommend you enjoy a meal while you still can… we’re going back Saturday night for dinner! Sorry forgot to take photos of the food.

Our birthday brunch for two was perfect! The tasting menu offered 4 set choices of a all the delicious entrees; the service was personal & professional. This newly opened restaurant is beautifully designed in every aspect and deserves a visit. Try it... you and your guests will love it! Bob Gee, SF
Very nice restaurant with excellent food. Service was courteous and helpful. Hostess was attentive and recommended the Baklava dessert, which was just right to finish off a pleasant lunch. A great first time experience.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at this incredible Mediterranean restaurant, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. The value for what you get here is unmatched — portions are generous, and the quality of the ingredients shines through in every dish. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, setting the tone for a relaxing meal. The food? Absolutely spectacular. Every bite was bursting with authentic flavors, from the perfectly grilled meats to the fresh, vibrant salads. The hummus was creamy and smooth, while the baklava for dessert was the ideal balance of sweetness and flakiness. It was clear that each dish was prepared with care and the finest ingredients. As for the service, it was top-notch. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, providing excellent recommendations without being overbearing. Our server made us feel welcome and ensured we had everything we needed throughout the meal. Overall, this Mediterranean gem exceeded every expectation. Value, food, and service were all 100% perfect — I can't wait to return! Highly recommend it to anyone looking for an outstanding dining experience. The first one we were satisfied so we brought our family to enjoy our dinner together at Ricco Mediterranean! They were so generous that they ended up giving us an extra baklava for the table!
Nice new place in the Marina.. Beet salad was great, the lamb shank was tender, so was the salmon. The Greek white wine complimented all the food. Too stuffed for dessert. Comfortable decorum. Service is good.
We really loved this place and will be back again! We were going to a Civic Center concert but had not booked in Hayes Valley, so we looked on line for a SF restaurant that had a vacancy at our desired time. This one is not at all near the Civic Center but was among those we found and i really liked the white table cloths and the type of food in their writeup. Greek/Mediterranean food is the best. Parking is difficult but we allowed ten minutes of hunting and got lucky to find a parking place a block and a half away. At 6:00 p.m. they no longer ticket cars, so we parked and got lucky with ten minutes to go. /The food was really good and enough that we took back a portion to reheat for the next days' dinner. The only negative is parking so either take a Venmo or allow enough time for parking. The streets around are all flat so even if you had to walk many blocks it won't be hard to get there by foot after you park.
We loved Ricco's. The service was personable and attentive. The food was delicious and at a fair price. The ambiance was lovely with beautiful murals on the ceiling and walls. It really set the mediterranean atmosphere. We were a large group of five people and all of us walked away feeling very positive about this restaurant. Highly recommend and I plan to go back next time I am in San Francisco.

Fabulous new restaurant! We had my mom's birthday dinner here, the food was excellent (we had a big crowd and everyone loved their orders), the service was impeccable, and the space very comfortable. It's hard for me to find places to take my parents that aren't too loud, and this place is spacious and so we could all hear each other. The lamb shank was so tender, the dolmas perfect, even the greek salad (a common dish) was unusually good.
What a treat to find a quiet, reasonable, gracious, and delishious restaurant in the Marina. Food was excellent Persian/Mediterranean fare, nicely presented, and very reasonable for table service restaurant. Enjoy this new place.
We celebrated my birthday on January 2, 2025. Appetizers included delicious hummus, crunchy calamari, and warm dolmas. My wife's entree was a chilled Caesar salad. I chose a Mediterranean salad with a skewer of grilled shrimp. Everything was delicious and served promptly. The dining room ceiling is painted blue with white clouds, which reminded us of our visits to Santorini. The restaurant recognized my birthday with a complementary Baklava pastry. Most appreciated!
Wonderful menu of Mediterranean, Persian, Greek, and Turkish food, well-prepared and delicious. Gracious, helpful service. A new gem in Cow Hollow/the Marina.
Service was excellent- there was only one waitress but she was attentive and on top of things. Yet the restaurant was not very crowded. The food was good, and the quantities were plentiful. My one constructive comment would be that the owner was not attentive at all, especially since the place was not too busy. She should've greeted us at our table and made sure everything was great. She basically ignored us.
