We absolutely loved this place. If for no other reason, they had a mushroom sandwich that was to die for. The ambience was also just incredible.

Cafe 5 in San Francisco is a delightful coffee haven! The cafe mocha and cappuccino were rich and perfectly brewed, showcasing their commitment to quality. The presentation in cool crockery added a touch of elegance to the experience. The flourless chocolate cake was a decadent delight, a must-try for any chocolate lover. The cozy ambiance and friendly staff make Cafe 5 a must-visit for coffee and dessert aficionados.

On Monday, October 9th, 2023, I had a glorified chicken sandwich - seasoned chicken on a roll with cilantro and jalepenos at 12:10 ( $18!). By 17: 00 was feeling unwell, at 18:00 first salvos of vomiting. Clearly only bread had been digested. 19:30, second salvos, and third salvos at 20:30. Then the explosive hourly runs began which lasted until the morning. The friend who is a member of the museum called member services to let them know of of a food poisoning event- leaving a message and never heard back.

They only take cash, but there is an ATM which dispenses 20s and charges you 3 bucks to do it. So a cup of coffee will put a $23 hole in your bank account. When even taco trucks take plastic, it's hard to see why places like this don't.

This sone of the more delightful museum cafes anywhere. It is especially pleasant on a nice sunny day when you can enjoy your lunch al fresco in the Museum's sculpture garden. The food is all prepared to order from fresh ingredients, and the menu is themed to the current exhibits in the Museum. Since the Special Exhibit when I went was the work of Diego Rivera, the Cafe was serving a all Mexican menu. My roast corn salad with pineapple, avocado and cotija cheese, garnished with 4 large, perfectly cooked barbecued prawns we delicious. I*t was too large for me to attempt anything other than an excellently made cappuccino for dessert, but I know from past experience that their desserts are excellent.

Nice cafe! Not outstanding, but the food is good and so is the coffee. I had a pretty good time sitting there and relaxing, a good break in the middle of my visit!
