Wonderful restaurant, their Sushi was absolutely incredible, hands down one of the best dishes I've ever had. The Lamb was ok, not the best but good. Service was great, the people were very careful with my celiac and I had no reaction from eating there.

The vibe is just right. From the marble tables, tiny fresh flower decore to the jazzy light sounds in the backdrop. Plates are exquisite! Would highly recommend just be sure to not mistaken the Chenin Blanc Sparkling for the white!
Any relationship between true French cuisine and what is served at Routier is entirely coincidental.

Multiple obnoxious restrictions including limited dining time, obligatory tipping and ridiculous cancellation rules. They use a terrible reservation system called RESY that requires multiple steps including sending confirmation code to your phone that disappears in minutes. When I put my phone number, I got a reply that it is already in use. I tried my two valid emails and received messages that emails do not exist. I finally managed to make a reservation using my husband's phone. When I decided to cancel, I had troubles again.

I’ve eaten here twice now, and both times I walked out thinking it was the best meal I’ve had in SF. Routier is absolutely a hidden gem. Every dish we have tried has been perfected. The presentation, service, cocktails and atmosphere are all outstanding. We can’t wait to keep coming back!

Routier is an absolute gem along California Avenue. The food, plating presentation, service, ambiance, lighting, and cleanliness of the bathroom are all remarkable. While I enjoyed both the summer squash (zucchini) appetizer and chocolate mousse, the star of the show is definitely the hanger steak main. I highly recommend the Roasted Hanger Beef! It's super tender drenched in rich savory sauce-- worthy of a Michelin recognition. I am very excited to visit again to try more dishes for a more thorough review.

Celebrated birthday dinner here and it was nice the restaurant remembered, with a cute card at the table, and candle included with dessert we ordered. Food quality and uniqueness is special, and the ambiance has old charm mixed with a modern feeling flair. Nice place to dine for a variety of occasions.

One of the best Californian restaurants around in terms of taste, wine, service and atmosphere.
I am not local but will come back for sure. Bluefin tuna was excellent with citrus, olive oil and chili source, and plum. It was THE California cuisine, too me, which reminded me of top notch ones in Tokyo in early 2000s. Others were very good, too. Overall, highly recommended for someone who wants casual but excellent and nit too heavy western dinning experience.
