Solid HK Cafe comfort food. Nothing too glam or glits about this place. Hits the spot though. Their beef Chow fun was pretty good though I feel like the portions can be slightly larger.

Great place to have lunch with my senior friends.

My first time; went with a friend. They ordered off a special "seniors" menuand I ordered from the regular menu.I had shrimp with scrambled eggs and rice. The eggs came out runny, almost like a sauce, definitely not scrambled. We asked for boxes to take the uneaten portion home and were told only one box. Not box on the senior menu; eat all of it on location.I have never heard of this at any restaurant, ever.Went to my car, a block away, and brought a container, only to see someone had given us a second box.So, for $19 and a bunch of crap and not good food; I could have eaten at Red Jade on Church St. for half the price and great food. Will NEVER go back!

4/5 for the rib eye steak. Don't come here for anything else. I'd much prefer cafe bakery for the rice and pasta dishes.

Second time here but was disappointed. Asked for ala carte curry beef stew and I got two containers, one had less than the other. Also another $8 for ala carte. Didn't seem to be worth it. $50 for 2. Also the curry was very gritty this time. Fried tofu needed more salt and spice. Singapore noodles were dry. Not sure if I will go here again. Rather go to Hon's for their curry beef stew...

Food is good for the price. Portions are generous. Ambience and decor needs work. Plenty of seating. Nice staff.

Food wasn't ready as scheduled, missed one of my 3 things orders. Taste of food was fine. Their curry beef over rice is very good but they gave only half a container of the sauce as if it is made of gold.I enjoyed their tomato sauce pork cutlet too.

This place re-opened for Dine-In following the pandemic, the atmosphere and vibe was perfect.I got the baked ox tongue spaghetti, it was baked to perfection with cheese on top.The quantity was great and the quality was excellent as well.Afterwards there is jell-o which always makes a great dessert.Overall would come back again.

One of the few remaining HK style Chinese cafes in SF. Their baked dishes with white or Portuguese sauce has been our go to dishes for years. The traditional Cantonese dishes like beef chow fun is really tasty and good price for the portion.

S & E Cafe recently reopened for indoor dining about one month ago. Hooray! I'm happy to see we've turned a corner as they were closed for indoor dining for over two years. Regulars will notice there are slight changes to the menu. I had the runny egg seafood crispy noodles $17 and a ice milk tea $3.50. With fish pieces, runny egg, scallops and shrimps, this was great. The crispy noodles stayed crispy because the chef didn't put too much gravy. Good job everyone at S & E Cafe.
