Came here for Christmas with my family and we had a great time! This is our second time here and won’t be our last! We came around 5pm, we got a reservation, and we were seated right away. We first ordered from their happy hour menu and then their regular menu.

My favorite dish was their sashimi, the hamachi carpaccio, and their Inside out roll. Their sashimi is super fresh and was so delicious. The dishes came out pretty fast & service was wonderful!

Everything we ordered:
- Takoyaki
- Crispy mushroom
- Dynamite mussels
- Godzilla Roll
- California roll
- Inside out roll
- Dragon roll
- Lobster roll
- Hamachi carpaccio
- Albacore tataki
- Rainbow roll
- 8 piece sashimi

Definitely one if the best sushi restaurant I have ever had while living in SF. Their fish is extremely fresh and have great service. The servers are extremely nice. The inside is nice and cozy, great for any time of the year. Would recommend to anyone looking for a nice family owned sushi restaurant in San Francisco.

This restaurant is a very bad restaurant, we rarely have four people together, choose to eat dinner in this restaurant, the first time we went there will not be a second time, the fish was served without ice, the beef kebabs were not cooked, the next day we all vomited and had diarrhea, this restaurant has been shirking responsibility, saying that there is nothing wrong with their food, and that the beef is raw and normal. We should ask our guests how ripe they want it

This restaurant is a very bad one. It was rare for four of us to gather together. We chose to have dinner in this restaurant. It was the first time we went there and there will be no next time. There was no ice when the fish was served, and the beef skewers were not It was cooked, but we all had vomiting and diarrhea the next day after we got home. This restaurant has been shirking responsibility, saying that there is nothing wrong with their food, and that it is normal for the beef to be raw, and that they should ask the customer how mature it is. They do it all - sushi, yakitori, ramen, udon, donburi, izakaya fare... you get the idea. Lots of different seating options including sushi bar, high tops, regular tables, faux tatami and private rooms. They were able to accommodate our party of 3 at 630 on a Saturday evening. Food is fine for a neighborhood spot, although there is a preponderance of truffle ponzu on many of the seafood items. Service was friendly and efficient.

Best sushi I've had?!
I ordered the Angry Bird and the Crunchy Roll. Perfect temperature , texture and taste.
Thank you, they were delicious!

I don’t know why this place has such great ratings because our food was awful. Uber eats won’t let you rate specific items the way DoorDash does so I’m saying it here. The salmon onigiri hard as a rock, the scallops, two small chewy, scallops, terrible tempura everything soggy, and cold and gross! I will never go to this place again and I don’t know how anyone else does!

Another meal at our favorite local Japanese restaurant. Arrived and was seated immediately in the window section.
The food was beautiful to look at and delicious to consume. We ordered a variety of items and took our time eating and enjoying each other's company

Vegetarian options: There are items available but it is a sushi restaurant. And no..... fish is not ok if you're a veggie.

Dietary restrictions: Just don't be greedy and you'll be fine. It's sushi. You know the deal

Parking: It's in the Westwood Park neighborhood so there is free parking available with a stroll. Otherwise it's metered parking

Kid-friendliness: Kids will be okay here. Just keep them quiet. I'm a parent and I respected other guests and the restaurant by not letting my kids make a mess. Don't be that parent.

Wheelchair accessibility: It's ADA compliant but the front section will prove to be difficult to access.

Sakesan is my favorite spot for delicious food and good times, especially since it's right in my neighborhood! While it may not feature the fanciest fish, it's consistently fresh and hits the spot whenever we're craving sushi. We're regulars during their happy hours (daily from 4-6pm and Sun-Thurs 9-10pm), where $1 oysters and $5 sake are our go-to choices every time. One of my other favorites that I would highly recommend is the grilled hamachi or sake kama (also on the regular dinner menu). The happy hour menu also offers plenty of other tempting options.

On the regular menu, there is a wide variety of sushi rolls to select from. To name a few of our favorites: mango roll, Golden Gate roll, 49ers roll, spicy scallop roll, gambler roll and anything with toro. On the menu we also like agadashi tofu, charashi bowl, beef udon, regular udon with a tempura appetizer. The possibilities are endless depending on what you feel like you are in the mood for.

The service here is outstanding as well; the staff is super attentive and always ensures our orders are served promptly. Plus, when celebrating with a large group, we appreciate that we can reserve one of the karaoke rooms in the back for free with a minimum spend of $300. Definitely my go-to place for great food and memorable gatherings with friends & family.

It doesn't suit my personal taste so it's hard to feel how delicious it is. This is just to experience and learn about Japanese street cuisine in the United States.

We've gone here a few times to use the private rooms which have karaoke and are priced with a minimum order requirement. The food is good and the karaoke has a pretty good and reasonably modern selection.

Parking: Meter parking on Ocean and some parking in the nearby neighborhood
