Joey was amazing! My group was large but he took the time to explain the flavors and accommodate us with all the samples we asked for. So incredibly kind and accommodating of all of us. I’d come back here for sure!

Amy helped us out today. I came with my mom and she was so lovely. She graciously handled our order and was so polite. I would come to this location only to be helped by her.😀 wonderful experience.

I haven't ate my pint of ice cream yet, but the folks I bought the other two pints for thoroughly enjoyed theirs. The line was long, but moved quickly.

Another must-try ice cream shop in the City!

Absolutely love this location. Not a bad flavor on the menu and the staff is always friendly and helpful.

Nice ice cream place and good list of variety but overly priced and exaggerated a bit more than it should be.

I love this ice cream place! It has some unusual and tasty flavors. The waffle cones always seem fresh, too!

I need to preface this review with a confession: I gained weight living down the block from Salt & Straw. I liked it too much. After discovering this place, I became convinced that heaven on earth does in fact exist—and it comes in a waffle cone.

I first heard about Salt & Straw at Alta Plaza Park, where a couple in love, lounging on a red-and-white gingham blanket, kindly pet my overly curious dog. “This is Salt & Straw,” they said. “Best ice cream in the city.” The next day I walked over, only to find a line stretching down the block. It took me months to build up the patience to wait it out.

When I finally reached the counter, I realized Salt & Straw isn’t your typical scoop shop. They’re known for wildly inventive flavors that sound improbable, even impossible—savory ingredients turned into ice cream. Seasonal menus have included pumpkin pie, Thanksgiving stuffing, and cranberry sauce. My first order was pear and blue cheese, and it was a revelation: a flavor explosion that made me rethink what ice cream could be.

But the true magic came when my son and I discovered what has since become our all-time favorite flavor—not just at Salt & Straw, but anywhere: **Strawberry Honey Balsamic Vinegar with Black Pepper.** It’s woven with homemade strawberry jam that is, quite simply, the most delicious jam in the world. After his first bite, my then 11-year-old son looked at me and said, “Mom, ice cream doesn’t get any better.” He was right. From that moment on, we stopped experimenting with other flavors. That one became our go-to, and thankfully, it’s available by the quart—meaning we can skip the line and still bring home perfection.

Salt & Straw is more than an ice cream shop. It’s a place where flavor becomes adventure, where patience is rewarded, and where one scoop can change your definition of dessert forever.

Great place for some not-so-common flavors of ice cream. A bit pricey but a great choice for periodic ice cream craving.

And I guess I found my new fav flavor. Pumpkin Pie Tiramisu with Chocolate Brownie.

Loved the different flavours! Coffee nut and olive oil is what I tried. The blue cheese and peach was surprisingly good too!

This location was infested with vegans, but I was able to get a small ice cream without being harmed. Only experiences minor emotional traumas.

Interesting place with interesting flavor combinations that make it worth the visit. I would give it five stars if it were richer and creamier ice cream, but the flavors are pretty darn good!
