Vanilla is my favorite ice cream flavor. I believe Vanilla is underrated. Vanilla ice cream is the canvas of many of my favorite ice cream combinations. This brings me to find the best Vanilla ice cream flavor I ever had " The Double Fold Vanilla" at Salt & Straw. Being Vanilla at Salt & Straw is a good problem to have.

Classic ice cream stop. They always have so many unique flavors and rotate the menu often. When I went recently they were doing a cereal series, so they had a lucky charms inspired flavor, as well as cornflakes & Reese's pb puff inspired flavors. The lucky charms one tasted exactly like a bowl of lucky charms in milk! I opted for the limited edition/last chance scoop of sweet potato pie almond streusel flavor. It had huge chunks of sweet potato (almost like pumpkin?) pie and a nice sweet cinnamon flavor -- it was so good!! The waffle cone here is also a must get -- so buttery and crunchy and pairs perfectly with the ice cream. The service here is really good -- the staff is friendly, the line moves fast, and they let you sample as many flavors as you want. Definitely recommend making a stop here on a hot day and walking around pac heights to enjoy the ice cream!

I’ve noticed a drop off in quality recently… less brownie bits and cookie dough in the flavors focused on those items. Not sure what’s going on, but I’ve also received the wrong flavors multiple times when doing delivery.Hope they recover soon

Peanut butter brownie cereal puffs might be the best ice cream I’ve ever had in my entire life. I do delivery and they frequently give me the wrong order, and there’s also less fillings than usual 50% of the time… but hopefully these are fixed

Favorite ice cream in SF. Very creamy (but not icy if that’s what you’re looking for) and reliably exceptional flavors.

The Vegan ice cream is AMAZING! I got the freckle mint chip on top and the zombie coconut on the bottom. Jeez. Creamy, unique flavors. So good, I had to get the Double. I went in like, get the sorbet, ride the sugar high. The marionberry sorbet was delicious. When I tasted the vegan ice-creams, I didn’t have a choice. Maybe a stronger person would have held their resolve, gotten the sorbet, it was rich and refreshing. No, ice-cream is powerful, even vegan ice-cream. I caved and enjoyed the good life. You should too.

I've had the Sea Salt Caramel which was good but the Cornflake cookies w/ Marionberry jam is my favorite and don't forget the waffle cone. The Double Vanilla was a let down. I was expecting ultimate vanilla bean flavor since that's what was advertised but there was barely any flavor at all. Taste like cream with light sugar and vanilla flavor. There is way more exotic flavors than the ones most people know and love. Therefore, this couldn't be my primary ice cream spot. But I encourage anyone to try them out.

Overall fine place and it's nice to look for unique flavors, but I think this is the case of taking it too far. Rated for 4/5 because it's still high quality, nice place and good service, but just not to my taste. More ice/water taste than milk/cream taste for the flavors (a pro for some, a con for others). So many flavors were creative and unique but odd combos that I would never expect (and never want) put together. And when certain flavors had mixers inside (such as corn flakes) but it was a weird texture as it was made within the ice cream (so soggy/soft) rather than crunchy from being freshly added to the ice cream (like how Coldstone does their mix-ins). I'm sure some people love it, and maybe if I came at a different time I might like their other flavors better. Honey lavender was the only one I liked and it was very strong lavender.

We love it here, such good ice cream. Although they should keep the pints behind the counter. I saw a homeless man walk in and steal 4 pints and just walk out easily tonight. I hate seeing this, literally about 50$ worth of ice cream and it will eventually raise the price for the rest of us paying customers.

This is my favorite ice cream spot in SF, the ice cream has my desired level of sweetness and creaminess, plus the variety of flavors is hard to beat. They are also open daily until 11pm at night, so getting your ice cream cravings satisfied is never a problem.

Great location for a great chain. I come here all the time. They are well-staffed and extremely efficient and getting through the long lines. The seasonal flavors are delicious, even the ones that sound disgusting when your hear the name. It's a bit expensive. You can't go wrong.
