This was a great meal but a little overhyped in my opinion and not a good value.

I’d consider this an elevated Korean restaurant, not a Korean bbq.

For the house menu, there was very little meat served. Plenty of food, but not worth the $120 per person price tag.

The Kimchi Jigae was my favorite, and the rice cakes as well. The meat was good but I expected far far better.

The food is as good as before but I was shocked that the restaurant implemented a policy that the deposit does not apply towards your bill if the party size was adjusted within 24 hours. Our dinner party ordered the amount of food for 4 people and had a ton of leftovers and the restaurant still insisted the deposit is forfeited for the missing person. I checked on Tock and they do not specifically disclose this “non-standard policy” at the point of reservation. Although I like their food, but I won’t go back. BE AWARE!!!

All staff are nice and awesome. The tasting menu was fantastic. I can't wait to go back again and try different kind of menu!

We had a great dinner with the house menu. It was plenty of food, so we didn’t need to order anything extra. The service was excellent, which made the experience even better.

A unique highend Korean restaurant I've ever had. The quality of the ingredients are definitely good and different from the traditional Korean BBQ Restaurant.

I really enjoyed the vibe and the service. The staffs are all friendly and polite. Definitely will come back again, just have to book in advance

My husband and I went on Jan 13 and tried the house set menu with several add-on items. Here is what I think:

1 - Service: great.
We were led to our table on time (granted it was a Monday). The waitress clearly knew the menu and was very attentive. No long wait time for any dish and the barley tea was always refilled fast.

2 - Two categories:

The amazing items:
Bulgogi, Buckwheat dumplings, Egg Souffle.

The "meh" items:
Pork & Kimchi Jjigae, Yam & Green onion pancake, Soft serve ice cream.

* The peanut banchan was GREAT! I had 3. I was surprise there weren't any Japchae, or egg rolls though. :/

3 - Atmosphere:
It was a little bit noisy for us but we may just be old.

Thanks.

Average food, slightly more expensive than other kbbq place (for the Michelin star bonus I guess)

Good service and atmosphere.

Come try it out once, definitely worth the money, but don’t expect anything beyond. Once is enough :)

Food was alright, but it was not worth the price at all. You can find plenty of Korean food in the Bay Area with similar quality for lot cheaper. The chefs may have used many advanced techniques and put a lot of effort, but the taste didn't match the effort.
Most of the food 6/10

Incredible, of course: service, food, and all.

However: our double-cut galbi was surprisingly fatty and a little chewy, which left us underwhelmed. Surprising given it’s supposed to be “melt-in-your-mouth,” best dish on the menu. Your mileage will likely vary, everyone else raves about it *shrugs*
(The galbi dumplings, on the other hand, were the best we’ve ever had!)

Amazing food as expected, with stellar service. Every dish was delicious, but was especially surprised by the grilled tteok and galbi mandu. The bingsu was also a refreshing way to end dinner! Definitely will plan on coming back.

if you’re looking for that classic overhyped Michelin starred SF fine dining experience, look no further. It will be hard to get a reservation. The food will be fine. You will be stuffed. Service and atmosphere are great. Overall not worth the wait to get reservations or the price. Wouldn’t go back.

Save your money and go somewhere with better service.
We drove an hour from the Bay Area to this restaurant, but they messed up our reservation and couldn’t seat us. The assistant manager handled the situation poorly, which only made us angrier. They didn’t care about how we felt and just repeated the same things like a robot. I’ve never seen such unprofessional service at any restaurant—not even at Michelin-star ones.
If I could give 0 stars, I would. We’re never coming back.
