Food was good but rolls were a little saucy. Sashimi was excellent. Service really lacked. Waiter was not very attentive. For instance, we had to ask for wasabi and gari. These are standard in EVERY Japanese restaurant. Also, we had to ask for napkins and clean plates. Waiter forgot to put in our order of Omokase. When asked, he said it took a long time (like we were almost done with our rolls) because the Sushi chefs had to cut the fish. Really? Just take responsibility and try...
It felt very rushed- they shouldn't take a reservation if they need to tell you the kitchen is closing in 15 minutes as soon as you sit down. They were also out of avocado which is a key item for many things on the menu. It was good, but by no means the best I've had in SF.
I cannot speak highly enough of this elegant place. Amazing dishes, fresh ingredients, absolutely beautiful presentation, kind staff, and elegant atmosphere.
When in doubt, get Chef's selection of sashimi - it will be to die for!
Also make a reservation ahead, otherwise it is hard to get a table.
