Overall, we had a wonderful experience. Heather was our server, and she was personable, knowledgable and attentive. The only odd thing was we casually mentioned it was my birthday and we had spent the day in the city doing fun things. At the end of our wonderful meal, she brought me a scoop of gelato with a candle in it. Since we didn't order it, we were surprised and pleased. The odd part was that there was a charge for two dollars on the receipt. It said, "comp gelato $2.00. Of course, when you spend a good deal of money for appetizer, soup, entrees and coffee, two dollars is nothing, really. It just seemed strange.

The vibes were there and the service was on point, I just feel the food didn't match the price tags. You would think with price tags like these you would go to flavor town. But all in all I enjoyed myself, it was quite the experience.

Grilled seafood and the snapper were both terrible. Tasted overcooked from frozen. The "grilled" wasn't really grilled it was sautéed in rancid oil. Baked oysters tasted Ok. Clam chowder was good. Cocktails were a huge disappointment. Service was good. Both of us woke up sick the next morning. My advice is only have a cup of clam chowder and leave assuming that wasn't what made us sick.

Don't Scoma's location on the touristy, often schlocky Fisherman's Wharf deter you from racing there for delicious seafood, attentive but not obtrusive service & a low-key, old school vibe. Every ingredient in the Cioppino was cooked perfectly and the broth was flavorful without being overbearing. My husband was delighted with his scallops. Take a walk down Scoma Way after your meal. The atmosphere & food aren't for tourists.

My Wife & I make it a point to eat at Scoma's when we're in San Francisco. They have an "Old School" feel w/ the service & friendly Staff. The menu is heavy on fresh seafood, but has other classic dishes, including my favorite, Pappardelle Bolognese. We ask for John to be our Waiter as he's knowledgeable & engaging. He's worked there for 38 years & we look forward to seeing him. I highly recommend eating here when in the Bay Area.

Scoma's honored our request for a quiet table. The food was delicious and paced appropriately. The wait staff worked well as a team. Soon after I departed, the hostess called to inform me that I left my prescription sunglasses behind. I was able to immediately retrieve them.

Wonderful 16th birthday lunch for my daughter, who has been coming here since she was a toddler. Scoma's is the real deal, NEVER disappoints.

Great experience, great service, great food. Classic San Francisco dining that I would recommend to anyone. Our waiter, a Sicilian guy, was great. For the moment, I'm forgetting his name.

We love going to Scoma's. Ambiance is old school which I say in a positive way. We had a nice bay view table in a fairly quiet room so we could actually hear each other talk without having to raise our voices. My martini was so good I ordered a second one but couldn't finish it because it was loaded with gin. They don't skimp on the alcohol. My partner ordered a Cabernet which was OK but not the best. He chose the less expensive wine so maybe that's why. Now for the food. It was nothing but great! Started with the heirloom tomatoes and house made mozzarella sprinkled with balsamic and basil. A bit more basil would have been nice so I'll give that dish a 4. I ordered the mussels appetizer which was plenty as a main dish. My partner ordered the black cod main which came with creamy polenta and veggies. He has an allium allergy and they were happy to accommodate him. F or dessert they gave us a gratis scoop of salted caramel ice cream for his birthday. It was the perfect end to a lovely meal. Will definitely go back again!

Great restaurant with superb service from Heather who anticipated our every need before we could ask! My husband and I were dining with our daughter and daughter-in-law and everything we ate was delicious. We had a drink at the bar while we waited for the gals to arrive. Drinks were excellent and bartender was friendly but not obtrusive. Seafood was incredibly fresh and there many great options. Highly recommend!

In a world of mediocre restaurants , this is the real deal. Pricey, yes. Service and food, perfect, Parking to the entire meal, worthy. I had the chapino and clam chowder. I should have had the chapino only. It was very filling and prepared to ensure you will return.

Wonderful seafood. Professional, adult wait staff. Retro (dated) decor but doesn't detract from the dining experience.
