My father has swallowing trouble, so ordered just a cup of chowder. It honestly felt like as soon as he placed his order, the waiter decided we weren't worth his time. There were absurdly long stretches of time without any check-ins or help. The food was reasonably good. Everyone was friendly. We weren't in a hurry, so it was sort of ok that it took so long, but it was abundantly clear that all tables around us were getting more attention than we were.
Our appetizer, the calamari fritti , was tender and flavorful. Someone ordered a cup of the clam chowder -filled with fresh clams. Also ordered was the roasted beet salad with a few slices of avocado, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, and some shaved horseradish. Though very good, it was pricey. When I see beet salad on a restaurant menu, I usually order it. Next time I will order something else. Linguini with clams was very good as was the gulf shrimp lumachini -perfectly seasoned....
My son and I were in town for the symphony. I made a reservation and called because GPS said we were going to be approximately 20 mins late. It was a Friday night, they held the table, and we didn't have to wait. The food was great. We had the cioppino and a dessert that tasted like a chocolate tiramisu. The service was excellent. They offer valet parking which was a huge plus for being in SF. I was very happy, we will return.
