Ordering from a screen is insulting. Cookies are vegan but the screen doesn't warn you about it. Don't offer larger sizes of coffee.

I ordered a mocha, and loved the chocolate blend with the espresso, it's a mocha that i would go again to have. Service was good overall, i'm not a big fan of ordering on the screen because it lacks the human contact, it's one way for businesses to save money instead of hiring more employees. I could tell the barista was overwhelmed but his mocha was superb.
The ambience is great, loved the design and seating, I don't go much to cafe that don't have outlets, i understand the business purpose behind it but I won't be going there again to drink and sit unless i want something on the go. I like sitting in a cafe and be able to plug my laptop and finsih my work

I've been looking for a new cafe to go close to where I live. Well this is not the place. First I order a cappuccino for there expecting a real cups, then it's taking a long time, so I go inside and he is making the drink order of the people that were behind me. Great customer service. I hear my order and it's in a togo cup. Guess I won't be coming back here.

I found the staff friendly+professional and the drip/batch brew coffee to be very good for the money. I also had the vegan oatmeal+walnut chocolate chip which was tasty.
I recommend the place given its amble size for leisure or work, the nice coffee, and non caffeinated selection.
The cafe has been running for over 10 years, through tumultuous times in SF, so the fact it’s still here is a sign it’s doing right for its customers.

Sextant Coffee Roasters has been serving San Francisco for 14 years and continues to deliver some of the best coffee in the city. Their Connoisseur roast from Tolima, Colombia has bright notes of lime, apple, and honeyed cocoa with a smooth finish.
The owner, originally from Ethiopia, is kind and knows exactly what he is doing. They have three locations across San Francisco, and for the freshest roast, it is best to visit on Wednesday afternoon or Thursday when new batches are ready.
A great spot for anyone who truly appreciates good coffee.

Decent coffee. Friendly, very busy employees. Abysmal seating and accommodations.
Sextant is a nice place to pick up your run-of-the-mill coffee and a good pastry, both marked up to the standard SF gouge, meet your friend, then go elsewhere.
Their cafe has backless seating and no available power outlets.

Disappointing experience masked as third-wave.
Paid $9 (after $1 tip) for a culinary-grade, oat milk matcha and $8.50 for an oat latte (also after $1 tip), neither of which lived up to the price. The self-serve kiosks are consistently outdated or mislabeled, making ordering more confusing than convenient. Pastries are clearly mass-produced, frozen, and laughably small—yet priced like the pastries you'd get at Arsicault.. For a place branding itself as “the best Ethiopian coffee,” there’s little evidence of care, quality, or transparency.

Good drinks, large variety of specialty (ube, pistachio, matcha), and good wifi (100mb up/down). Nice cafe!

Coffee wasn’t very good. I ordered a cappuccino which was the same price as a cortado for some mysterious reason. I walked in 15 minutes before they closed and the barista immediately scowls at me and says “we’re about to close you know!” Yes, I did know. I asked if I could still order and was met with multiple snide remarks followed by a “sure”. I should have just left. This oat milk cappuccino was truly terrible and not worth $7. Really disappointed by this experience!
Took over half an hour with no line for 2 drinks. The London fog tea tasted like it had coffee grounds in it. Very clearly unorganized. Won't be back
