Shabu Club Reviews
Poor management/ownership. Discriminates against vegetarians by charging the same amount for vegetarians vs non vegetarians and forcing vegetarians to also order all you can eat if non vegetarians want to do all you can eat. Shabu Club is a renowned restaurant in San Francisco known for its high-quality meat and unique cilantro garlic ponzu dipping sauce. It is a popular spot for hot pot, particularly on chilly, rainy nights. The menu features tender meat slices, delicious appetizers such as chicken wings and Kobe fries, and a simplified ordering process. The restaurant also offers a happy hour with reduced prices from 5 to 6:30 PM daily.
The service at Shabu Club is praised for its patience and grace, with the staff going above and beyond to make guests feel welcome. The restaurant is not just about filling your stomach, but about providing an overall experience, with warm hospitality and a cozy atmosphere.
In addition to the meat options, Shabu Club also offers vegetarian gyoza and calamari with aïoli, as well as a variety of ice cream flavors for dessert. The all-you-can-eat option is available, but the regular and large portions are said to be more than enough.
Customers have highlighted the delicious food, including the spicy miso and regular miso broth, as well as the fresh and flavorful Kobe beef, Kurobuta pork, and assorted vegetables. The ice cream is also praised as better than most hot pot spots. While the restaurant can get quite busy during dinner time, it is recommended to visit and make reservations to secure a spot.
