Honestly this restaurant has an identity issue. Is it a Chinese dim sum spot? Is it a Japanese ramen shop? Is it a Asian snack shop? That’s what I thought when I walked in and saw the menu. I ordered the teishoku set with the oxtail, the string beans, and a soy milk. The food is not bad but considering the price and I waited 25 minutes for my food to come out I sadly have to give this place 2 stars. There was 1 server for the whole restaurant and maybe had about 7-8 tables filled out of 12, I saw only 1 cook in the back but the server was very flustered and kept assuring me the food is ready when it wasn’t. The prices are also very expensive my set cost me about $26-27 after tax and tip. I will not be going back.

Two stars for two veggie options. Food was great but we felt led astray by other reviews mentioning veggie options aplenty. Nice ambiance and a nice break from the noise of Chinatown.

Excellent Ramen and Gyozas. Even brought us scissors without asking so we can cut up the foods for our kids. We devoured everything ordered. Will be returning for sure to try their other items. It's in the part of WP that gets a bit less foot traffic, so really want more folks to discover this place given the great food.

I would say bland....Wakaru has better Ramen for similar price...good broth energizes the body...dumplings didn't have much flavor for the price point. This place would be great of they make it into a bar but with small nightmarket dishes...

Noodle shop opened last year or two on west portal. Cute little shop with one person working in the kitchen and another in the front. Parents and i went, we ordered noodles individually and pigs ear to share. All were decent, my beef brisket king ramen did not disappoint - the meat was as tender as described in other reviews. For the three of us, it was $75 total. Ambiance was good, table was clean. We luckily came and beat the rush at noon - got our order in and able to get our food before everyone came in to try the restaurant for weekend lunch. Parking on west portal is generally easy, which is a plus.

Saw this place with both Chinese and Japanese noodles plus soup dumplings. Was craving both and decided to give it a try. The restaurant was empty at 6 pm, so my group of 5 was seated immediately. The waiter was friendly and very patient with my elderly parents. We ordered. Shrimp and Pork Soup DumplingOxtail Meal SetYuzu Shio RamenTonkotsu RamenShoyu RamenThe soup dumpling was decent. Came out steaming, but surprisingly, not that hot when eaten. The skin was just thick enough to not tear and contain all the soup. The Ramens were all the same toppings but different soups. An okay bowl of ramen, just not mind-blowing. Noodles were nicely cooked with a nice chewiness. The chashu was slightly dry but good flavor. The egg looked like it was precut and lost its jammy soft egg yolk. Would have liked the ramen to be served hotter. The dinner set was nice. Came with soup or soymilk, salad or green beans, rice, and the main protein. It was served in all separate dishes on a tray. Oxtail was delicious!Overall, nice neighborhood ramen spot. Friendly service, clean restaurant, no lines and street parking. Would come back and try the Oxtail noodles next time.

Yummy noodles! We came by on a Sunday afternoon and were given the last table, thank god. There is a physical menu on the table but you'd have to order through the QR code. They also serve dim sum but definitely on the pricier side.Service: 10/10. There was little interaction but our waiter was friendly and efficient. Our orders came out pretty quick as well.Food: 9/10Karokke - Clam chowder croquettes! Very tasty but wish the serving size was a bit biggerWonton noodle soup - 7-8 pieces of wonton! Vegetables + noodles were cooked well but the broth was a bit bland. Chili oil fixed it though Tan tan ramen - So tasty!! Actually a bit spicy too. Other tan tan ramens I've had were usually salty and the broth was too thick but not this one! The broth was cooked to perfection-- taste + consistency! Their soft boiled egg (only half) was more like hard boiled egg though :(Would come back and would recommend.

The wonton and dumpling noodle soup was so A-W-E-S-O-M-E. The broth was flavorful and just as I remember from eating the same dish in Hong Kong just before the pandemic in 2020. Service was ok as there was just one waiter who did take out, new order in-take, dine in ordering and food serving. Ambiance was good. The setting was clean and not too congested. Spacing between the tables was ample. More than 6 feet between the tables. I'd go again when I venture through the West Portal area.

Good food, good mood, I'll say! I bookmarked this place a while ago in a quest to find won ton min, so happy we finally tried it last night. The flavors were like nothing I had ever had before! Their version of tan tan was tasty without being too strong or overbearing with the spice like a lot of other places. The broth was delectable and the egg in there tasty, good bouncy noodles too. We tried the zha jiang noodles too, I expected it to be like Korean ja jang min but it, again, had such a unique and delicious taste! The soup that came with it also savory and delish! I was excited for the soup dumplings but I bit into it way too soon, hella hot! They didn't slide out of the spoon as easy as some other spots so I was a bit disappointed with those but they were still good. We finished it with Mitchell's ice cream, they have a lot of selection. Tons of selection! We will definitely be back. The place was super clean and our waiter was very nice to us and other tables.

On our way home from the Sunset Night Market and with how packed it was, we didn't get quite enough to eat and figured we'd stop in for some dumplings before heading home. We tried both the pork soup dumplings and the pork + shrimp soup dumplings. They were absolutely delicious. Slight personal preference for the rich porky flavor of the just pork, but really enjoyed both. Dumpling skin texture was on point and the skin : broth : filling ratios were perfect. Best soup dumpling I've had in a long time. Ambience was great too, a very welcome fresh and modern feel on West Portal Ave. Everything was extremely clean, staff was helpful / attentive, and love their nifty water jugs too (and the frequent refills!). We will definitely be back with bigger appetites.

We were greeted right away by a friendly waiter when we walked into this mom and pop restaurant . There were limited metered parking spots right outside of the restaurant. However, we managed to find a free parking spot a block away from the restaurant. We ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen, Shoyu Ramen, TanTan Ramen, Takoyaki, and Xiao Long Bao. The takoyakis were tasty and had plenty of bonito flakes. However, we wished they came with bigger chunks of octopus inside the takoyakis. The Xiao Long Baos came in individual soup spoons. They were kind of on the soupy side. The Shoyu and Tonkotsu Ramen had the same ingredients, just different broth. They came with four pieces of chashus, bamboo shoots, wood ear mushrooms, bean sprouts, green onions, a piece of seaweed, and half an egg. We appreciated that they trimmed off the fat from the chashus. The TanTan Noodles were just ok. We didn't care for all that chili oil that was floating on top of the ramen. We noticed that there was sign posted right next to our table stated that they have staff shortage. We wondered how long that sign had been up for. We hope they will hire some more people soon to help with lunch and dinner rushes. However, they kept the restaurant clean and our meals came in a timely manner. We saw two employees working there, which was one cook and the waiter. Overall, we all enjoyed the food. They were reasonably priced. We will definitely be back to try their beef brisket ramen and zha jiang mian.
