Food was yummy, staff was nice, little to no service, but friendly atmosphere. Cutlery and coffee is self-serve, which would've been nice to know, but we figured it out on our own. The serving sizes are pretty small. We got the chicken & waffle, pancake, and fried chicken. The chicken wings were fabulous, crispy and juicy, but the chicken breast was just okay. The chicken and waffle had 2 chicken wings (including the drumsticks) and 1 waffle with a handful of fruit sprinkled over. The pancake was thick and fluffy. All of the food was a little too salty. The structure of the staff is really disorganized, so expect to sit around for awhile without food. They forgot my dad's food, so he was just sitting there waiting until long after my mom and I finished our meals. Eventually, the staff came by to ask if we had gotten our beignets, and we let them know that we still hadn't gotten my dad's dish yet. They were kind enough to try to refund the dish, but I doubt we'll be coming back.

Found this place online locally. Ordered the chicken & waffles, husband ordered the bacon biscuit sando. Didn’t get a picture though. Chicken & waffles was delicious, the fruit added sweetness to it. And for the price it was great. Unfortunately the bacon biscuit sando had potential but it was very oily/greasy, even the biscuit was drenched in oil. Environment in the restaurant was nice and colorful. Staff was okay.

Truly a hidden gem - I feel very lucky to enjoy this place before there is a line out the door!

Incredible brunch. The fried chicken sandwich and shrimp and grits were phenomenal. Having lived in Texas and North Carolina I wasn't sure I'd find anything as good in San Francisco, but Smoke Soul Kitchen blew me away. More than the food itself, the owner and everyone who worked there were so warm and hospitable. They were testing out chocolate chip cookie recipes and gave us some complimentary. We went with our dogs because I thought from photos online that there was a back patio --although there wasn't a patio, they had some tables out front on the sidewalk and were super accommodating. I can't wait to go back!

Restaurantji Recommends
My mother and I went here for the first time since it is in our local neighborhood, so we thought why not support local businesses. Unfortunately, we ran into a few issues. The menu did not have some of the items that were listed online, which was disappointing and misleading. We have also never been to a restaurant where you have to order before sitting down, and no one explained this to us. The lady at the front did not greet us or pay attention, which left us confused. Overall, it is a beautiful place with great potential, but they really need better customer service and should update their menu to match what is advertised online.
