This is our favorite neighborhood restaurant. Excellent food and atmosphere with fantastic service. Outdoor seating is lit and heated in a beautiful setting.
Horrible experience
Very inattentive service, never brought our first course and the main course which was their chef special pork was raw , cold and red in center! Very expensive and tiny pour on wines
Never apologized or tried to get us something better to eat and acted like they did a huge favor not charging for the dish they never brought and the inedible pork.
We left hungry,
Avoid this place

I selected Sociale for a friend's birthday dinner. It was lovely! They remembered it was her special day. The menu was plentiful -- great options. Fresh, quality and innovative dishes (the special rigatoni with sausage and marasala was to die for!). The halibut cooked perfectly. And the Oblivion cake a great ending. Wines were very nice and the server was beyond attentive and helpful. Always there with suggestions and making sure our evening was lovely. The location and venue is charming and great for outdoors or indoor dining. ENJOY!
We had a favorite neighborhood restaurant for years, Mescolanza which has closed of recent years. We hadn't been to Sociale in awhile.Happy to say that Sociale is now our go to favorite Italian restaurant in town. Love the food especially the tagaliatelle Bolognese and the scallops. Great service, wonderful ambience.
Amazing food. Consistent and delicious. The outdoor seating is lovely. Can't beat it.

Excellent food and service though we felt hurried to leave at the end of the meal (and we were by no measure the last to leave the restaurant).
Delicious meal in a quaint and lively setting that feels like being at a cafe in Italy. Definitely recommend the Pappardelle with Braised Duck and Burrata.

Another lovely dinner in the courtyard at Sociale. Food was terrific and love the feel of the patio, especially nice on a balmy evening!
Delicious food and great service. We always like to sit outside as it's delightful and quieter. Eggplant Parmigiana is otherworldly!

We were visiting SF for my husband's bday and wanted good Italian The food was incredible The fried olives are a must and our server made us feel like royals! We will be back.
Sociale has become one of our favorite restaurants in the Bay Area. We look forward to every visit. I was especially pleased on our last visit when we mentioned to the server that we were interested in either the gnocchi or the pasta special with pork, he offered us the opportunity to have half portions of each. This kind of service, coupled with the exceptionally good food, keeps us coming back.
We couldn't decide between the roasted duck pappardelle and the bolognese tagliatelle. Sociale gave us both a half portion of each so we didn't have to choose and both were delicious!
The service was not as good as I have had previous times there - they didn’t put in one diner’s order - but the food is good and I love the atmosphere. Feels a bit like you have traveled to Italy. We were bummed because we had been lured in by an email advertising a promotional pasta and wine pairing for the month of September but it turned out to not be happening for some reason. I really liked the milkshake that came with the sfingi (doughnuts) and the polenta fries were tasty. The risotto could have used some pepper and it was perhaps a little too past peak stone fruit season for the peaches in the summer salad.
