Spruce is a magical oasis in the city. Food is delicious. Service is attentive. Ambience is enchanting.
Incredible experience. Top notch food, service, cocktails, everything. Gorgeous interior. They even left us a card and a bouquet of dried flowers when we said it was our anniversary! Will definitely be back.
My two out of town guests were so happy with our meal at Spruce. The ambience, food, waitstaff and warmth in the restaurant were outstanding. You are to be commended!
It's a nice room with nice, but expensive food. Unfortunately, we had to wait an hour to be seated with a reservation. They did buy us a drink while we waited and were very apologetic, but then once we were seated, the service was slow, even to get water and we were very hungry! The staff apologized many times, but they needed to do more than buy us a drink to make up for the wait before and after being seated.
Beautiful restaurant and outstanding service. One of us ordered muscles, which were excellent. The other order a hamburger; this is not the place to order a hamburger. I hope to go back and try more of the menu.
I dined at Spruce for what was meant to be a special birthday celebration dinner, but unfortunately the experience was far from what I expected from a restaurant of this caliber. Our server, Eric, set the tone early with inattentive and unprofessional service. Despite clearly informing him at the start of our allergies, he did not proactively guide us through the menu. Instead, we had to prompt him to identify which dishes contained allergens—something that should never be an afterthought in a fine dining restaurant where the bill will easily come up to be $500 for 2. The most disappointing part of the evening came during our third course. Eric brought the check along with our dessert, even though tables seated before or around the same time as us did not receive the same treatment. This was jarring and felt like a significant misstep in service, especially since we never indicated we were in a rush. We were still very much in the middle of our dining experience. It didn't end there: while we were eating dessert, Eric returned to ask if he could take the payment, then hovered over me as I reached for my credit card. A busser also attempted to clear our table while we were still enjoying our coffee and beignets. These interruptions made us feel rushed and unwelcome, undermining what should have been a relaxed, celebratory evening. What was supposed to be a fun night out instead became an unpleasant experience. We will not be returning.
We absolutely loved our experience at Spruce. The food was phenomenal, the cocktails were amazing, and the ambience was truly spectacular. Every course on the prix fixe menu was superb and the pricing felt very fair overall. The only surprise was the truffle add-on, which was $95. While the flavor was out of this world, the portion size made it feel like it should have been closer to $60. Still, it didn't take away from how fantastic the evening was. The service was warm and attentive, and the entire experience was memorable enough that we're already planning to come back. I even asked why the restaurant isn't currently Michelin-rated, because it genuinely feels like it should be. I was told that Spruce previously held a Michelin star and lost it due to some past service hiccups — but based on our experience, I truly believe Spruce deserves to have that star back. Highly recommend!
We have dined here many times and had wonderful meals. The food this time wasn't as good as the past. I am not sure if the issue was how busy the restaurant was.
We had dinner here celebrating anniversary. Many of the dishes had flavors that were off balance and ingredients not well paired. The monkfish entree had a sauce and vegetable pairing that was too spicy and the fish was tough and flavorless. My duck entree was dry and only fair with one or two measly vegetables on the plate. One of the desserts was disappointing. Wine was left unpoured, server was sporadic and a bit terse. The secondary servers brought us a wrong course. The restaurant was very noisy. The whole meal experience was disappointing for the price. They were kind enough to credit one entree. The main saving grace was the great Caymus Cabernet wine we brought from our cellar, but It the 75 corkage fee was outrageous. They did give us a very nice table and anniversary card.
Spruce is always a wonderful experience . Staff is attentive , food is always delicious and the ambience is perfect

Food was very mediocre for the price point. Lacking flavor and didn't enjoy the apps. Great drinks, service and ambiance.
Delicious and amazing service! I liked the privacy of the external room across from the cafe but it had flies that made the ambiance less nice. But I'd still come back but probably ask to be seated inside.
As a 3 course lunch it was too rich not many dishes to choose from that was not an average American breakfast
The brunch menu was excellent. Every course was 5/5, hard to pick a favorite. The staff was very kind and considerate to us. Definitely want to comeback for dinner sometime.
The food was excellent, the portions were right-sized. I personally don't value all the extra sweets that are offered free at the end of the meal. They feel unnecessary when we've already had dessert and I find them annoying, as if the restaurant were demanding attention like small children sometimes do. Our server was friendly, but she seemed brand new and had trouble answering questions about the menu, though she did get answers and came back to tell us.
