I been coming to sugar lounge for about 3 years and last Sunday Max the bartender kick me out the bar because he said I was using his space, and then he told my friends that he was a regular costumer so he was okay but he said that I was not a regular costumer which I feel that was disrespectful for me since I consider this bar as a local, family bar for me so this is why I think Max bartender needs to treat all customers equally and be more considerate with everyone.

Came here spontaneously after dinner. Love the vibes and not sure why they have such low ratings. Anyway, I started off ordering the drunken sailor. It was okay. We then ordered vodka shots which were terrible lol but they did the trick. Overall had a great time here and will definitely be back

I went here because a local told me they have a good happy hour. On Monday they have the Pink cosmo which honestly was really good. It wasn’t packed, I was able to read my book in peace. They also have tables too. It’s very dark and moody I loved it! They don’t serve food here BUT they do have chips in the front and candy too. $5 for a drink wasn’t bad and then after 6:30 or 7:30pm it’s $8 for the whole night.

Great bar with reasonable service and beer. The staff not listening well and don't repeat orders so ours was totally messed up and cost us more than we had actually ordered.

Nice bar with reasonable amount of seating. Saturday at 7-ish there was no crowd, but by 9 there were a few loud groups and the music also got louder.

Tacky yet strangely comfortable interior. My friends and I used to enjoy the couches. The drinks are of mixed quality, but tend to be a dollar or two less than most bars in Hayes. My friends and I however recently walked in and walked right out. It's any bar's right to express its opinions, but our group prefers to relax where there aren't any signs regarding the mid east (or who to vote for president) - regardless of which side of either. We're a pretty diverse group and don't want to walk into an environment that's potentially hostile to anyone.

5 stars for Dussey! It’s some of the hardest working staff here and the environment is amazing! This is for sure a monument of San Francisco. A place filled with memories one will never forget!

I love sugar for so many reasons:- happy hour specials- daily specials- Friday’s daily special is a not too sweet, but v dangerous strawberry margarita- comfy couches- low lighting- not quite divey, but also zero pretentiousness- chips when they first open, snack size candy all night (at end of bar)Their Paloma & Richmond gimlet are my go-to if I’m there on a day of week that isn’t Friday (strawb marg special)Be careful with the well liquor lol if you’re a liquor snob ask before they make your drink ;)

Here's the thing about a lot of restaurants, bars, and ultimately life -- you gotta temper your expectations / try not to have any expectations if you can help it ;P Sugar is one of those places that is really hard to describe... It's not quite a dive bar, but it certainly isn't...fancy either. Classy? I think you could label Sugar classy if you wanted to. It's really all about what you make of it. Sports Bar? Sure, there are TVs that are often playing sports. Cheer's Bar? Abbbbsolutely, for some of us, this is it. There are definitely some regular regulars, and you won't be the only one at the bar if you happen to show right after they open. I love Sugar for: - girlfriend catch up sessions - first, second, tenth dates - cousin night cap after dinner next door There are daily drink specials, amazing happy hour specials ($5 shots) before 7:30pm, and the later in the night it is, the more buck the crowd will be. Gets packed most weekend nights and I wouldn't want it any other way. Usually have 2 to 3 bartenders working, and they're doing their best to get drinks out with a smile on their face. REMEMBER TO TIP YOUR BARTENDERS!!!! My absolutely favorite night to be at Sugar is Friday for strawberry margaritas - not too sweet, and super dangerous ;P see ya there soon!
