My husband and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary at Sushi Hon for our very first omakase experience, and it truly could not have been more perfect.
We were lucky enough to have Chef Andy, and he made the entire evening feel so special. He was incredibly kind and welcoming, and you could immediately tell how passionate he is about his craft. He walked us through each course, shared which pieces were his personal favorites, and put so much care and artistry into every single bite.
Everything was beautifully presented and tasted incredibly fresh and thoughtfully balanced.
To make the night even more special, they surprised us with rosé to celebrate our anniversary, which was such a thoughtful touch and completely made our night.
10/10 experience from start to finish. We will absolutely be back!

Special place with a streamlined but super well executed menu.
It was pretty quiet when we went there on a Monday night, but the food was amazing and filling. Worth the money and great employees

We had the omakase prefix dinner on Christmas - the ambience is serene, a respite from life’s chaos, the attention to detail by the service staff is Michelin level superb - you feel special even before the first dish arrives. Then, the magic happens - one dish and one story at a time, you’re taken through a journey that combines the sea, the artful vision of a sushi chef and the splendid story telling of the kind and thoughtful wait staff. The sake added a little fun and it was one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had - it’s a stellar restaurant with stellar staff. Another cuisine jewel in the Bay Area’s hat.

Outstanding service and Omakase dining experience - best sushi experience in San Francisco!
Excellent service and quality of food. Surely it helped the fact the restaurant was almost empty so we had all attention focused on those few customers. Nonetheless, I very much enjoyed and will come back
Favorite sushi place in the bay. I can’t say enough good things about our experience here or improve upon what’s already been said but we’ll definitely be going back. Fantastic and creative dishes served by the most friendly and welcoming team

This place used to be great and delivered exceptional quality at a very reasonable price as well as an exceptionally well run sake program. It's now serving low quality fish while charging the same price. Don't waste your time here. I wish chef Alex was back to make this place decent.
19 individual pieces for the $135 omakase menu. The uni was quite fresh. Nothing was "best I've ever tasted" but everything was quite solid. No flops

Sit at the bar!
Sushi Hon is truly a gem. From the moment you step in, Chef Yong and his wife Hannah make you feel like family. I've experienced omakase across both coasts, and nothing compares to what Chef Yong creates here. His passion for each fish, the way he sources from specific regions, and how he tells the story behind every bite. It's magnetic. When you sit at the omakase bar, it feels deeply personal, like the entire evening was crafted just for you. It's the kind of place you walk out of feeling full not only from the food, but from the heart they put into it.
Had my first omakase at Sushi Hon and was blown away.
The standouts for me were the Shiromi Sunomono (so refreshing), the smoky albacore with truffle (killer combo), the ocean trout that looked and tasted incredibly fresh, and the Toro that literally melted the second it hit my mouth. Honestly, every course was on point.
The service made the whole experience even better. Hannah was amazing, super welcoming, explained each dish in a fun way, and just made the night feel easy and enjoyable. The whole team was friendly and attentive without ever overdoing it.
The vibe here is relaxed but still feels special, and the food is top-notch. Every piece of sushi was fresh, balanced, and even the rice stood out. You can tell a lot of care goes into everything.
