Sit at the bar!

Sushi Hon is truly a gem. From the moment you step in, Chef Yong and his wife Hannah make you feel like family. I've experienced omakase across both coasts, and nothing compares to what Chef Yong creates here. His passion for each fish, the way he sources from specific regions, and how he tells the story behind every bite. It's magnetic. When you sit at the omakase bar, it feels deeply personal, like the entire evening was crafted just for you. It's the kind of place you walk out of feeling full not only from the food, but from the heart they put into it.

Had my first omakase at Sushi Hon and was blown away.

The standouts for me were the Shiromi Sunomono (so refreshing), the smoky albacore with truffle (killer combo), the ocean trout that looked and tasted incredibly fresh, and the Toro that literally melted the second it hit my mouth. Honestly, every course was on point.

The service made the whole experience even better. Hannah was amazing, super welcoming, explained each dish in a fun way, and just made the night feel easy and enjoyable. The whole team was friendly and attentive without ever overdoing it.

The vibe here is relaxed but still feels special, and the food is top-notch. Every piece of sushi was fresh, balanced, and even the rice stood out. You can tell a lot of care goes into everything.

Sushi hon never disappoints. Honestly it’s as enjoyable as the $300+ omakases lol

Sushi and Saki were amazing as were the pork pot stickers. Chicken was average. Loved the presentation of the nigiri and soup. Overall service was excellent yet the place is small and the restroom was dingy. Sometimes a restroom visit can alter perceptions of the restaurant. Obviously not a dealbreaker yet It would be nice to upgrade to match the vibe of the dining room.

My boyfriend and I celebrated our 2-year anniversary with the 19-course omakase experience at Sushi Hon. From beginning to end, the experience exceeded my expectations and set the bar high for any food establishment going forward. The restaurant is dimly lit and intimate, but colorful with bottles of sake as decor. We were seated at the sushi bar in front of Chef Yong, where we enjoyed watching the chefs cook.

The quality of the fish and ingredients they use is unmatched. Each course is balanced and done so thoughtfully. Chef Yong brought us on an exciting journey through the food that he served. He orchestrated a perfect experience, elevating and manipulating elements of fish that caught me by surprise. You could taste how much care and passion Chef puts into his pieces.

To top off, the customer service is excellent. When presenting the food, Hanna invited us on a story and demonstrated her expertise in each plate. When I left to wash my hands, I came back to my napkin being folded! Hanna was warm, and she paid attention to the details, even the little things.

Thank you Sushi Hon for the experience on our anniversary day. It was truly special, and I can’t wait to celebrate with you again.

We did the Omakase experience or whatever. The caliber of food does not match the prices on the menu. I like that we got our own place to sit and plenty of space and the staff in general was friendly. But the food was just not that good. Our bill also ended up being over $500 after SF tax and mandatory tip. I've been to many sushi restaurants in my life and have had much better food for less than half the price so their value proposition just does not make any sense in my view.
