SusieCakes - Laurel Village

Still my favorite brand for the old-fashioned American style cakes. I am already fond of the carrot cakes since I met this shop in San Carlos. This time I tried the chocolate cake and it is so decadent and moist. The price is closer to 10 dollars per slice but you can eat the cake for a meal. Even the free slice I got for my birthday is gigantic. I will continue to be your customers! Thank you for wonderful cakes!

These cakes are so delicious, moist, flavorful,colorful and just so satisfying. They are perfect. Hope you #enjoy it as much as we did and don’t forget to add a little milk (or the comfort drink of choice). You won’t regret it… too much 🤭

The guy upfront with the bandana (sorry didn’t get your name ) but he was very kind , I got a lemon cake and he gave me tips on how to save it in the fridge etc … and was very professional, deserves a raise 😁

This is very “grocery store” level product. It’s very sugary and gooey but not anything of an order to justify the price.

The two employees when I went in, were very kind and very helpful. The blonde Baker and a young man at the counter told me I could order a personal red velvet cake for my son. Just pre-order 48 hours in advance. So I call and whoever answered the phone doesn’t have manners at all and says I don’t think so. We don’t do that. He put me on hold for 10 minutes so I finally hung up and drove to the store. The person there was just as rude and, the Baker and him were making dirty looks. I told him to help the lady that just walked in and he insisted on taking my order and I said I’m leaving and he said OK bye. So disappointing. Higher better staff. It was the gentleman with dark hair and black glasses and the baker with dark hair. They are very rude.

I’m a longtime customer of Susie cakes and my favorites are the carrot and coconut cakes. Those 2 are some of the best cakes I’ve ever had! Only thing I would recommend is to enjoy these treats in moderation because they can raise your blood sugar. Would love if they could return the option of delivering just one slice of cake instead of two. Otherwise it’s a great brand!

Susiecakes is a household favorite! It’s not uncommon to see one of their cakes at a birthday party, work function, or any kind of celebration in the Bay Area. We have pre-ordered cupcakes before for a bridal shower, but you can also just stop in for a treat! They sell single cupcakes and cake the by the slice in store. I do think they are a bit pricey for what they are, but they are always a hit. Parking in this area is generally easy - there are some vertical spots out front at Laurel Village, or plentiful street parking within a block or two.

Amazing little bakery! I ordered a surprise set of bakes for a friend’s birthday, to be delivered to their office, from thousands of miles away. They made it happen!

This place pride themselves on customizable cakes but they can’t even do the simplest request for light on frosting. Yes, they do have this issue in third world countries too. Don’t over promise and underdeliver.

Came in for a quick dessert and got a marble slice. They gave us a carrot cake slice for free and it was delicious!! Totally recommend, service is great.

Mid-tier overpriced cakes. Not a hint of deep cacao flavor you would usually get from a high end bakery. Same goes for the vanilla & marble cakes. It's not bad but value-wise it's fair to expect better from a cake that doesn't come from Costco.
