I am legitimately addicted to their cold noodles which has a delicious sesame/peanut-y sauce. Unfortunately for my wallet I DoorDash from them regularly for it.

The Szechuan fried chicken was lacking an exterior crunch. This is my fave dish and it wasn’t up to par to other restaurants. The green beans and cucumber salad were good though.

Order delivery driver did not follow instructions. They forgot my soup and my potstickers. I tried to call back. No one answered the phone. I then called the delivery service. I used to tell them what was missing and they contacted the restaurant finally. But instead of the restaurant delivering my food as if I wasn't hungry they just decided to give me $5 back. They didn't even ask what I wanted to do. My food was warm at best when it got here. The duck was salty and they forgot my sweet and sour sauce to put over the chicken. So it's just dry Chicken, all this for 50 bucks! I tried to support local businesses but I won't be using this one again!

So the owner replied on here, but didn't bother actually help me. Just said thanks for letting us know we you couldnt eat our food and you wasted your money not once but twice because you had to order food from another place to actually eat for dinner. So I'm glad I could help them out on my dime!

Attentive and quick service, but food was pretty mediocre.

One of our favorite restaurants in the city.
No matter what we order, in more than nine years, we’ve never been disappointed.

Maybe I was still euphoric from the Warriors win the night before, or just the pleasant walk through Inner Sunset, but I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect meal in this cozy nook on a Sunday April afternoon.

I enjoyed a warm bowl of shrimp wonton soup, which they made spicy on my request, and my partner, sweating, relished his griddled bean curd pot, claiming, “Finally, someone who respects spice.” We also ordered the bean jelly appetizer, which was a close replica of the liangpi from my childhood summers in Chengdu. Around us, two middle-aged college men were plotting their next steps in life over bowls of peanut noodles, leaning in to make sure they really understood each other. Two parents and their adult son put aside their expectations of each other and shared plates of garlic fried string beans and grilled fish, collecting the bones on a separate plate. Six USF students each got the lunch special, so there were copious bowls on their table. They were laughing gayly. The bowls and plates here were all porcelain or metal, so I didn’t have to worry about microplastics leaching into my food.

“I haven’t had a meal like this in a while,” my partner said. “It’s pushing my limits.”

He was on his third water glass refill. My partner can’t go a week without turbo-blasting his sinus system with extreme chili, and it seemed he finally met his match.

We asked for a to-go box for the unfinished bean curds. Serving sizes were generous without being overwhelming. And service was invisible in a good way; I felt none of the anxiety I get from some social interactions and suddenly our plates were cleared and water refilled. It allowed my partner and me to give our full attention to the meal and each other’s company. The only downside was that I felt the appreciation too fully and had to break off to write this review. I only hope that my sacrifice will allow more people to visit this special place.

When I told my partner I was reviewing the place, he said, “you had Type 1 fun but my fun was Type 2.”

Amazing skill was used to cook some dishes we simply did not like. The sourness of one dish and the powerful licorice flavor of another ruined for us what were otherwise immaculate meals.

I am sure to many this food tastes like home, unfortunately we did not expect or enjoy those flavors not us and so we must say so.

Best wishes to the staff.

Dan Dan noodles were great. Excited to try several of their other dishes. A very wide, and diverse choice of Szechuan selections. Friendly service, good prices and portions.

This is hands down the best Sichuan restaurant in SF. Everything was perfectly flavored. Boiled Fish, beef dry pot, mapo tofu, pork wonton in chili oil and stir fried cabbage was fantastic. So much mouth numbing spicy goodness
