Pretty mid food, if I’m being honest. We came here for taco Tuesday, which is a great deal, but the food doesn’t impress enough for me to come back any other day of the week. The meat is dry and bland, the tacos were small and cold, and they skimp on salsa (the most important part of the taco!).

If you want dinner for $8, then absolutely come here on a Tuesday, but don’t expect anything great.

Tacos Los Altos is everything you want in a neighborhood taco spot—authentic, flavorful, and welcoming. From the moment you walk up, you can smell the fresh tortillas and sizzling meats on the plancha. The tacos are generous in size, perfectly balanced, and packed with bold flavors. Favorites like the carne asada and al pastor are always on point, with tender meat, bright salsas, and just the right amount of heat.

Beyond the tacos, their menu has a range of classic Mexican comfort food—burritos, quesadillas, and tortas—that never disappoint. The salsa bar is a highlight, offering something for every mood, whether you want smoky, tangy, or spicy.

Service is quick, friendly, and makes you feel like part of the community. Prices are more than fair for the quality and portions, and it’s clear they take pride in both their food and hospitality.

Whether it’s a quick lunch, late-night bite, or family dinner, Tacos Los Altos is the kind of spot you’ll keep coming back to. It’s not just a taco shop—it’s a neighborhood staple.

i've been coming here for their seafood tacos. It's really hard to find good seafood tacos outside of Mexico. It's a really good product!

Ordered a burrito with sour cream and instead of putting it on the burrito , they gave me a small thing of sour cream which wasn’t even enough for my whole burrito.

Pretty flavourless super carne asada burrito for $16.50. A very small portion of guacamole in the super burrito, the salsa did a decent job of adding some flavour but overall.. not a good burrito by SF standards and pricing whatsoever. Won't be back

Took me eight years to try this place, fortunately I wasn’t missing much, the food was just ok, not terrible but I won’t be recommending considering how much competition/options there is in the area. I tried the carne asada taco, al pastor taco, a side of rice, beans, and chips. The rice and beans were good, best thing I had.

The food is delicious, with lots of veggie options - including mushroom quesabirria! ? My only complaint is the little tiny bit of salsa you get with an order of chips and salsa. It's hard to even get a proper dip bc the container is so small.
