Cool modern Ethiopian restaurant! Meat and veggie combos were solid, and I especially enjoyed the dish with lamb and collards mixed. Would be even better if the dishes were served on top of an entire plate of injera (like most Ethiopian restaurants) rather than just a piece or two! But they give you plenty of injera on the side so it’s no big deal.

a cute modern n clean restaurant! i ordered the tofu tibs and the man at the counter recommended the spicy lentil dip as my side; it all came with enjera and side salad. the enjera arrived in 3 mins and the rest of the food took around 20, even though I was the only one there, that’s how you know they made it fresh!!! and it was so worth the wait. the salad had a healthy amount of olive oil, n the tofu tibs were actually insane. i’ve had ethiopian food before and nothing i’ve had was this flavorful and just plain delicious, the tofu was crunchy and sautéed with onions and bell peppers the depth of flavor was AMAZING. this is was so unexpectedly delicious the perfect combo of crunch and flavor. the spicy lentil dip was genuinely spicy and paired well w the enjera. the price to portion ratio was fair for san francisco. the bathroom was clean too. this was one of the best meals of my life and i wasn’t even hungry that’s how you know it’s good!

Had the Vegetarian Combo. Seemed like a smaller portion than other Ethiopian restaurants, but it was enough after all because the injara is filling. Perfect proportion of injara to food-Used all the injara to scoop up every drop of veggies.😋

Portions are very small! I didn’t feel full after getting tibs. Normally you would have extra leftovers from one meal!!! Go to Oakland if you want to try authentic Ethiopian food with good portions.

The veggie combo is nice.

It's just not very good. Dry, tasteless, overpriced. People seem to think they need to rate this highly simply because it's different...

Save yourself trouble, go to Cafe Reveille instead, way better food and service.

Delicious food, excellent ambience and service with perfect portions. Parking is easy relative to their counterpart in tenderloin.

I want to give this place a 5 star but I’ll tell you why I can’t.
1. They play music that is very bad for the experience. You can’t really have a conversation or think straight because it’s some gospel music playing super loud. I wish they would play background music
2. Some unhygienic things happened. The person who handles the injera today was wearing gloves and with the same gloves, that he washed the tables, picked out up and took out the the trash and touched the bottom, and who knows what else, touched every injera, every inch of them. It’s really gross and could make someone very sick. I also think wearing gloves in general is risky since the staff (including the cook) likely doesn’t wash their hands after touching doors, going to the bathroom, etc. I watched the person for a long time and they did not switch their gloves out after touch all those things then served injera. So they are not changing their gloves between food and non food activities.

I hope they can work on these 2 things and then I will be happy to dilate my review.

The food is great and the people are nice who work there but I draw the line at unhygienic and things that could make me sick. It really sucked as well because I had already eaten a bunch of it and then saw what they were doing so really ruined my meal and my appetite.

Excellent Ethiopian food. The drinks especially are very good, and all reasonably priced. I highly recommend the honey and flax seed smoothie
