This place is delicious, I got the pork chasu rice bowl and the gyoza, also tried some of the dry noodles everything was great, the service was super quick and the atmosphere is very nice and upscale
I will definitely be coming back here!
Went on a Friday and it was super busy so I’d recommend making reservations especially if you have a bit of a larger party

It was just okay. Thin broth, small portion, and the flavor was a bit odd.
I ordered the lunch special but didn’t get the sides. I was too distracted and tired to complain, so maybe that’s on me.
They charge junk fees, so expect an extra 4% charge on top of the menu price.
There is much better ramen for lower or equal prices in SF, even in the same neighborhood.

The to-go ramen broth containers come half empty. Not sure how they charge 20.00 per ramen, and give half empty containers of broth.

Tuna tartare was tasteless and low quality tuna. Ramen was fantastic

Small portions.
Taishoken is pretty decent ramen spot, the atmosphere is nice and inviting, the staff is friendly and quick, and the ramen is a little different but tasty.
However, the portion size is super small and the prices are higher than most places in the city.
I’ve never walked away from any ramen hungry, but did here. It comes with one piece of chashu instead of two (you can pay for extra) and I had two pieces of mushroom in mine, the bowls are deceiving as they are incredibly narrow at the bottom.
Ultimately, it’s not bad but there are there places, even nearby I’d rather go to.

Delicious food, great service, and fantastic modern ambience.
They only have a single vegetarian ramen option now, but it's delicious, with lots of chili oil -perfect for the rainy winter evenings. The only minus was a chewy piece of mushroom that was basically wooden - a bit of quality control can help with that.
The matcha pie is a must try

Hastily done Tonkotsu, LOADS of noodles, 1 piece of pork… well, tasty but not a great ramen
We had chicken ramen and vegetable ramen; both were delicious, but the vegetable one was exceptionally good. The service was quick, and the waitress was very attentive. Try it.

The Sakegria was mellow and refreshing.. not too strong, neither was the alcohol. Can taste hints of acidity from the orange.
The Chicken Karaage had a crispy batter. The inside was tender and juicy. It was good. I can taste the side of mayo having some sort of curing that you would find in a salted egg yolk.
The Cha Shu Bowl was soft and tender. It was flavorful. The Cha shu did not have ligaments of tendons, I think this dish is better than Marufuku ramens dish. It was okay.
The Spicy Miso Ramens broth was a little on the thick side. The broth was very aromatic, maybe a little too much for my taste. The noodles were thin, but cooked well. The egg was overcooked — the inside was not runny, but not well done either. The cha shu was thick but soft.
The tonkatsu broth was very good. It was more on the thick side, but the flavor was very on point . It was not too overpowering nor too much aromatics. I should have went with the tonkatsu broth.
The stonemill matcha pie was okay. The cream savory and sweet, and was a little rich. The crust did not look appealing at first, but if you eat the pie together with the cream, it is not half bad. The matcha looks very pale green.

I really want to give you guys 5 stars, because the Ramen is so good, but why are you being cheap on the broth?
I can understand the cost of meat but the broth??
Maybe it’s just on takeaway, but the broth barely fills half of a regular Ramen bowl.

Overall good ramen. Nothing special just good.
I know the noodles are house made, but wasn’t the biggest fan of them. And compared to other ramen spots, their pork chashu slices were pretty thin, so I ordered 2 slices. Similarly, the portions were smaller than other ramen spots and thought they could’ve incorporated more toppings. However all this said, it was still good.

The portion is small—only half a piece of chicken hidden in the shio chuka soba, which is barely a bite. The dipping soup for the noodles is watered down and not warm enough to coat the noodles, leaving them bland. The price is hard to justify. Also they charge a 4% SF mandate. I wouldn’t visit again.
They used to have the best spicy pork ramen in the city until they changed their whole menu. After many complaints they put a different spicy pork ramen on the menu that is not as good as the original. Their San Mateo location still has the original (although they changed the broth a bit). Please bring it back, it was so good 😪
You can get Stonemill matcha's matcha cream pie here. No need to wait in line.
