Solid sushi spot. I went on a Wednesday by myself and was seated at the bar. They were busy and service was quite slow but they gave me a little free cucumber salad for waiting. The salmon avocado roll was the highlight and it was awesome. King salmon and trout nigiris were decent. The negi toro hand roll was fine but was super overpriced at $19. I ended my meal with a second salmon avocado roll since it was so good. The ambiance is cozy and they have a TV that was playing horse races. I would come back but I'd stick to the basics, which they do well

Takara is very solid and I've had good experiences both dining in and ordering from here. The sushi is pretty good by Mission/Castro area standards, and they run a tight shop in terms of service. The Volcano roll is a feast for the senses, a must-try if you're dining in. The Spicy Geisha and Dinosaur roles are also quite good.

Solid and affordable sushi spot in the Castro. Always fresh and leaves you so full. Can get pretty busy during peak hours.

Nice sushi and good service, liked it overall! The interior is very dark though.
I used to live by you. Enjoying your fresh ingredients weekly back in 2016, so amazing to have you in my life. Wish I still lived on 18th. Now in Yosemite park. Give me a coupon! I spent 400 a month for five years eating there. Miss the staff and atmosphere.
Parking: If you go just a little higher up you will find street parking for free. It's a beautiful neighborhood so worth a walk.

Small sushi spot about a 5 minute walk from Castro and Market. I arrived about 40 minutes before close and they still provided great service and unlike many places didn't try to rush me. The food was very good (I got two special rolls and miso soup). The prices seemed a tad high to me, but I would go back again.
Wheelchair accessibility: There are 2-4 small tables with freestanding chairs right inside the door that are wheelchair accessible. Beyond that requires going up about 4 stairs to access the remaining seating.
