I have always raved about Tartine. Amazing pastries in a great location. We went around 1:30 and it was pretty empty, got a table outside even! A must visit. Honestly you will never taste anything as good as that banana cream pie or see better lamination.
The bread was excellent. I wish I had come earlier to try it fresher, but it was great. I did also order a vegan pastry option, although it was slightly less interesting than the bread itself. It's great to have vegan stuff on the menu, but I'd hope it is at par or above every other non-vegan food surrounding it. It fell a bit short for me, even if there is a high bar.
