I’ve visited a few of this maker’s locations around San Francisco — the atmosphere is always nice, and the staff are friendly and attentive. They have a great selection and the presentation is beautiful.

Ordered ham cheese, croissant chocolate croissant, toast with butter and jam and a latte.

Everything quite as expectedly good. The croissants are the flaky style, but will taste better after I go home and heat them up slightly.

The bread is great. Not sure about the jam. They said it is strawberry jam, but it is too sweet for me and I forgot to ask if it is their store-made jam. Looks like it but maybe it is just too sweet for me.

I love the thickness of their toast and hopefully next time I am in the area I can try their avo toast.

Coffee happens to be in the style I like, no fuity note. For a 12-oz, not too milky either. (Forgot to take picture)

🥐☕️♥️I had a pain au jambon and a black coffee. The pastry was huge, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, so good! It went perfectly with the black coffee. There was even a cute little dog there, which totally made my day!

When in San Francisco so as the SF’s do and go to Tartine? We were told it was the best place for bread (sourdough) in the city. I would say it was good. We wanted to really test their bread, so we ordered just plain bread sliced and it came with butter for about $8. I was impressed with the portion size. I also couldn’t resist the ham and cheese croissant as I looked at the display box. It was delicious. 10/10 I would get the croissant again. We went for a pick me up afternoon snack and ate in the park. Perfect location with a enjoyable snack. I would for sure go back if I needed another snack while in the area.

The food is delicious and high quality, my favorite is the mushroom grilled cheese. Their bread in general is exceptional, as well as the butter and jams. While the food is amazing and is expensive, I’d ultimately say that it is overpriced slightly. It’s always going to be chaotic in there during weekends, but it is dog friendly.

How are you out of the only two substantial sandwiches on the menu by 12:30 on a Monday? Why was the sandwich garnish a scraggly pathetic single carrot? Why is the almond croissant filling watery, and not rich and thick like the way better almond croissants at Arsicault? Barely hospitable counter service, while the tablet prompts you for a min 20% tip. Only bright spot was the food runner, he was great. In this economy, Tartine is a hard pass.

Love the salmon toast!! Other pastries are often good as well but I’m not blown away by the croissants. I wish they had a broader variety of pastries available.

Great place to catch up with friends if you’re able to snag a table!

Super busy when we went and on the pricier side but you get what you pay and wait for here. I went here with some friends for brunch and everything everyone got was delicious. I got the omelette that came with a side salad and toasted sourdough. I liked having the variety of some protein, some greens, and some bread. There’s indoor and outdoor seating- all beautiful! The line was somewhat long when we got there but moved fairly quickly. I would come back and recommend to friends!

Have only done delivery with this place. Excellent big sandwiches. I usually get the ham but tried the smoked salmon. Lovely presentation!
