Best cappuccino I had in San Francisco. The salmon tartine was fantastic. I loved the pickled lemon peel. It was busy but tables turned over quite quickly and food was delivered quickly as well.

Great place easy in neighborhood parking, close to the park for a walk. Put the menus at the entrance of the line, so we all know what great breakfast etc they serve.

They make the best chopped salad, five stars! Overall, four stars because they don't answer the phone or return phone calls when their greeting message says to leave a message. Upon arrival to order take out, they said weekends are too busy to answer the phone. I get that, but then, they should change their message so it doesn't infer they will call you back. Btw, the smoked salmon avocado toast is also fantastic!

Tartine is a bit of a victim of its own success. When I visited (Saturday afternoon), it was very crowded, to the point where the atmosphere of the place suffers, with the order queue flowing around diners sitting at their tables. As always, the service and their bread and pastries were excellent.
