Happy to have a Japanese curry place in the area

Thought I'd try this new place, and I will definitely be coming back! I got the miso ramen for takeout. It was not overly salty, the noodles and pork were packaged in a different container so they didn't get soggy. Great place!

Tender is one of my staples in the city. The chicken katsu bowl with green curry is 10/10! I HIGHLY recommend their curry puffs and Thai tea as well. The staff is very kind and the food is priced great.

I love this place. Any of the curries and the friend chicken is amazing. The brussel sprouts, edamame, and the cucumber salad have never let me down either. Of I could give more than five stars I would. Don't let the location fool you, this place is the best.

Yea, it's really that good. Neighborhood a bit sketchy, but for the price, taste, and quality - 'f-n' amazing. I'm hooked.

Great food. Great service. Great energy. Triple threat for greatness and I am never disappointed. The ginger rice is a nice touch for a dish so simple.

Tender being in the TD , dang I really like the name ~ This place have so many options! Usually options isn't always good because how can you make everything good if you have too many options? But wow they still do! Try here twice with different people for different amount of opinions you know gotta be like nonbias and stufff Ordered ahead on yelp the first time, walk from my house here about 15 minutes and food was ready. Got Original ginger and garlic rice (I think its similar to kao mun gai): was good steam chicken is simple and the soup was tasty and very good for a chilly day. Feel like it was a lot since I didn't finish. My friend got the Aloha curry and it was great for him since he inhale that almost instantly. He got steam chicken with that but I'd bet it taste good with them pork belly chasu I gotta try that another time. Second round: actually was trying to decide what to eat w my friend and I suggested Tender, they're like OMG NO WAY I LOVE THIS PLACE ~ My friend call to order and the person remember his voice lol that's so much customer care :) my friend always get the Japanese kare curry: he swear by it, it's super filling but is not too heavy and super consistent this time I got the tom yum soup: I thought it would have some carbs but it didn't but it's fine. the soup was huge. the flavor was deep but not super overpowering. Had enough portion for another meal the next day. Good pricing, good food, good service ~ overall great neighborhood place :)

I am very disappointed with the portion and quality of my food order. I ordered the grilled chicken and they sent me a very small thigh with skin still on? I expected a decent size of grilled chicken not to mention it looked broiled. For $12.95 that is not exceptable. I will no longer be ordering from here.

Please stop by and support this local business! The food is so good and I especially recommend the Japanese Katsu Curry (or you can get it with Fried Chicken as well, I recommend getting both!) or if you want something a bit more simple the Ginger Garlic Rice with Chicken also comes with a soup that is tasty as well. The service was so nice and efficient and it's definitely a great option to order from as they do both takeout and delivery!

The places where you can get a filling, satisfying meal at ~$10 are diminishing, but I'm happy that you can still find many of these places in the Tenderloin. Tender offers an interesting mix of dishes, from ramen to curry. But all of these dishes are $10-$12, and they come with two generous scoops of rice (jasmine or ginger garlic). I ordered the Aloha Curry bowl with fried tofu ($9.50). This Thai-style curry offered bursts of sweetness from the bell peppers and tomato and a little hint of spice. Poured over the rice, it was hard to stop eating it. I was surprised by how generous they were with the tofu. I got a couple huge chunks, and I liked that it wasn't greasy despite being fried. The thick crust gave way to steaming tofu, perfect for dipping in the curry. Normally, I don't eat the rice, but in this case everything was gone into my stomach within minutes. I was full for hours afterwards. Definitely good bang for your buck!

Every bite of the Chicken Battle was incredibly prepared: the broth was so flavorful, the rice was moist and perfectly seasoned. And the chicken was rich, crispy, and well spiced.
