Food was ok and ambience decent but the service was absolutely terrible. We had to find our server 3 times to get drinks, water, etc. The old fashioned on the menu is $25 which led to a surprise at the end of the night and was average at best.

I made a reservation for a client happy hour 4 weeks before the event. Followed up to make selections for food and was told that my reservation couldn’t be honored due to a mix up with management.

Be warned that this place is not trustworthy and doesn’t honor their reservations!

Thankful that I reached out to them, otherwise I might have shown up with clients to see they couldn’t honor the reservations.

Update to be “transparent”: accommodation offered was to move the reservation to a different day. I reached out to them through phone and email…not sure that changes much but wanted to be “transparent”.

I cannot say enough good things about the Barrel Room!!! I called day-of for a reservation, and they were able to accommodate our party of 7 at the exact time we requested. Upon arrival, we were seated promptly and asked for drink orders. The wine flights (our party tasted three of the ones offered) were each phenomenal. We also enjoyed three different appetizers, as well as a variety of entrees - all excellent. I personally ordered the short rib Ragu which was phenomenal. We finished the night with their brownie and vanilla bean gelato which came out piping hot and very tasty. The service was on point, the food was great, and the atmosphere was the perfect blend of sophisticated and welcoming. However, the real treat was the owner personally thanking us and gifting our party a bottle of champagne to acknowledge our upcoming wedding! What an amazing gesture! All in all, this was a wonderful and memorable dinner. Highly recommend having dinner or hosting an event here!

Alex and Morgan were amazing from the first minute we set foot into the Barrel Room. They created a warm, inviting space where we mingled with drinks, then sat for an incredibly coordinated night of amazing food, beautiful wines, and perfect presentation. Thank you to the entire staff for making this possible and for the amazing care you took in curating the menu to fit our one special eater. We are eternally grateful! Thank you for helping us to welcome our newly minted couple into the married world!

I showed up for my reservation on time, only to find out that the restaurant was closed. They never called me to let me know I called and left a voicemail. They never called back either I had dined here multiple times before but won't be going back. They have an exciting wine program with excellent food, but service is always extremely slow and the wait staff appears to have zero motivation

From the cheese croquettes to the cocktails to the burger…everything was absolutely delicious. The service was top-notch: professional, discreet, and very attentive.

The whole place feels intimate and a bit hidden, which makes the experience even more special.

Highly recommend, I’ll definitely be coming back!

Hosted a company event for ~50 attendees here last night and everything was incredible. The food was delicious (try the bacon wrapped dates!), the space was beautiful, and the staff were fantastic - warm, welcoming, and easy to work with. Special shout out to Niki, one of the managers, who was absolutely lovely and added a great presence to the event. Highly recommend the Barrel Room

I visited during San Francisco Beer Week to enjoy 4 beers and a food pairing course.

The inside of the store was very clean and spacious, and even though it was early at 5pm, it was a popular store with many customers already inside. There were plenty of counter seats and table seats.

It was a special course during Beer Week, consisting of 4 beers and 4 dishes to go with it. Each beer was unique and served in sufficient quantities, making it a perfect way to enjoy Beer Week. The dishes were course meals such as shellfish, salad, and meat, and the portions were large and the flavors were very delicious. These dishes alone were enough to satisfy me.

What surprised me most was that 4 delicious dishes, plus 4 beers to go with them, cost $60. I can't believe there's a restaurant in San Francisco where you can enjoy this kind of food and beer at this price. I think it would cost $120 at other stores.

The staff were very kind, serving the food and beer at the perfect time, and were always attentive.

I'd like to go again during normal times when it's not Beer Week.

The team here is amazing. Everytime i come in they are so willing to teach and share their selections. I walked into a judgement free zone with people who cared about my drink experience. Having been here a few times now, I can say that welcoming atmosphere and kind people are consistent . The smells coming from the kitchen are divine and the ambiance is second to none. Hands down this is the place.

We hosted a 14 people dinner at the Cellar. The room was suitable but it was so cold. They have their wines are stored in the room so they need to keep it chilli which is fine but they don’t tell you that. Some people had their coats on during the dinner. The food and service was ok - not great but ok. I paid the bill and when I went back home I realised they had charged for 14 people while only 13 had dinner and they also added a 6% “admin fee” on top of the room charge and the 20% service charge. So I ended up paying around $200-250 extra. I would not book it again
