The Crafty Fox Ale House

Hands down my favorite spot in the city. I’m here literally every weekend — the beer list is always on point, the vibe is relaxed but alive, and the staff just gets it. Also, whoever curates the playlist deserves a raise — I’m Shazaming tracks almost every time I’m in. It’s the kind of place you want to gatekeep, but can’t stop telling people about. 5/5, no notes.

Easily the best beer selection in all of San Francisco - yes, it's better than the other popular joints like Toronado. The curation is way more up to date and broader.
Even better, it has incredible food and broad but thoughtful. You can get a fantastic meal here on top of said incredible beer.
Finally, while there are always people here, you can always find room because it's so big.
The only downside is that it's on a less traversed intersection. But that just means that it's a sleeper. If it was on a busy street you'd never ever be able to find a spot there.

What a taphouse/brewpub should feel like! Good vibes, better beer ~ Killer beer list, 34 on DRAFT all Berra are $10/16 oz minimum before io and tax. the Chicken sandwich and fries for $20 was just okay. Not impressed at all, much better chicken sandos exist in the city. Better place to drink at only

Used to come here a few years ago and have always loved the staff! Beer is awesome as always. Not sure if they’ve hired a new manager / food runner of some sort, but there’s a short woman that’s quite rude. She seems more back of house than front. Otherwise, have always loved the spot!

Man at the bar was absolutely fantastic. Suggested beer, food to go, and made my night easy and chill. Can’t wait to come back!!

The Crafty Fox Ale House was one of my favorite stops while visiting San Francisco. The space inside is cozy with plenty of seating and a great bar setup. The beers on tap were varied and had one of my favorites in the US (Allagash!). Prices were fair, service was quick, and beers cold. 100% would come back.

I've been coming to SF and I always go to this place, it feels like coming home. Good vibes and nice ambiance, I always Shazam off their playlist or recognize a niche song that
I know. The staff is always helpful and knowledgeable, but most of all, friendly and kind. Next to that, maybe the most important thing (for me): their beer list is insanely good. If you like lambics/geuze/sour beer, IPA's, or stouts. They have the best stuff on tap. The food is very good as well, nice comfort food with a beer and good variation. Go here if you love beer. While there are other spots in SF that have nice offering (liquid gold, Toronado) this one is my favorite. The range of the beer offering on tap, but the people and ambiance do it every time.
