Horrible x2 experience … please diversify your bar staff. No matter how you slice or dice your establishment is in tenderloin! Black clients need to feel welcome by your Hispanic staff who focus on Caucasian clients! You need to change the name !! EUROPEAN!! II was the only client in the bar …. Waited extensively for a drink and walked out when observing no effort initiated by yourTWO staff (Spanish speaking ) at the bar! You have a problem in the facility. I will file a federal law and city and county of San Francisco law suit next time this happens to me! TRUST ME… God bless America!! Move out of Tenderlion if you only want EUROPEAN patrons. By the way … nobody answers the phone at the Warwick … be aware if you are coming from abroad to this establishment. 03/02/2025 18:40 visit! The negative reviews are ABSOLUTELY accurate based on my two visits. Relocate this institution … I will start a solo protest in-front of this establishment unless the assure having new and well trained culturally sensitive staff!! If you have been discriminated by this establishment please feel free to join! Why did they punish me by making me wait so long? All I asked for was gin, lemon juice and soda water. Initially being told it’s not part of the happy hour menu.

I visited with a friend for a quick happy hour get together. We each sliders, patatas bravas, truffle garlic fries & cocktails (I had a mojito & my friend had a lemon drop). The space is modern & sleek. The bartender was also our server so he was juggling table service & bar guests so he was busy. The food & cocktails were pretty good & happy hour prices made it even better.

It was so nice to have a functioning bar and food options in a hotel, again. The food served here comes from the tapas restaurant and is good. The churros are amazing! The feel of the place is upscale bar, but friendly and unpretentious. We sat at the bar and chatted with the bartender and had a very enjoyable time.

great experience! Don't miss it and the music was also super fun, lots of Latin hits perfect for a Thursday happy hour

The bartender, Alejandro was great, the cocktails were very tasty and great service, I totally recommend it.

Bartenders are top notch, they make you feel welcome and can make any drink. Offered a blackberry mojito and the espresso martini were delicious. They have 2 tvs to catch the sports games with a food menu as well. Excellent service and experience

This place is amazing! Alejandro makes the best drinks. I'm not sure what he sprinkles in the drinks but it brings the 'happiness' out and about. We had a blast; for sure if you DON'T like fun don't stop by here cause you will be disappointed. Coming back for sure! Don't say pataw-toe!

Walked in expecting a happy hour only to find out they have not updated their website. Since we went in for their nonexistent happy hour, we thought the menu prices were quite high. Although it had a nice looking bar and seating area, it was super quiet. Bartender was friendly. Moved on. Might try next time we're in the area.

Truly a proper "everything from the can" establishment, including the service. Drinks are very poorly done, and recipes for traditional cocktails are treated as loose suggestions at best. The service is the farthest thing from attentive, which would be fine if the prices weren't sky high. Definitely a place to stop by if you're looking for what is essentially a Union Sq. truck stop (minus the urinal) if you're taking a road trip through SF.

The food is tapas style with several paella options available. Great wine list and a delicious espresso martini they add chocolate liqueur in I love the bar staff - they know their cocktails and wines, are so kind and energetic, and overall possess great energy that add to the ambiance of The European. I enjoy coming here for a bite or drink with the girls since their seating is comfortable and chic, think loungey tapas den style, with the choice of four/two top tables, if so preferred. The seafood paella had a surprising amount of seafood in it, ask for some hot sauce to go with! The lamb lollipops - super tender and savory; patatas bravas were a group favorite; shishito peppers - kinda basic but expected. For desserts, we had the chocolate ganache, or bites of chocalate bliss paired with strawberries and little crackers, and a slice of cake (can't remember the name. Go for the ganache!! The cake was okay, not too flavorful and quite dense.

Service was not accommodating to hotel guests, and server was dismissive and rude, reluctant to provide the complimentary wine that comes with the hotel stay

I would give them a zero star if I could! Went up to the bar and the Hispanic gentleman bartender continued to speak to his friends and the only acknowledgment of my existence that he gave me was putting a napkin way too far in front of me and then he leaves. Then other white gentleman bartender looked at me and then went and gave napkins and plates to some other folks then went and asked another table if there items were good and then came back to the bar and just looked at me and the went and helped someone else. I just got up and went to their bathroom that a person with disabilities could never use??? I came back from the restroom and just walked right out and said nothing. What a shame how disrespectful and disgusting! You all knocked passives aggressiveness and racist right on out of the dictionary, Congratulations! Honte à toi! au reverie.

Have a drink..maybe, but dinner..no. Tiny lamb chops served without accompaniment, extra bread.. sickening lasagna...Unfriendly service

The European quickly became my fiancé and I's favorite place in Union Square. We came twice in our short 4 day trip. We felt so welcomed by everyone we interacted with. The bar tenders as well as the food & drink manager we're wonderful! The food is 10/10 and the drinks are also 10/10! Knowledgeable bartenders who were able to help my fiancé explore more delicious , reasonably priced bourbon.

Yikes. Surprised by the five star reviews. Our bartender was in a MOOD. We're staying at the Warwick and stopped in the bar while we waited for a food delivery. Immediately got attitude from the bartender because we asked for the complimentary wine the hotel offered. I ordered another glass after the first two my husband and I had and asked to charge the room. He yelled at us as we were gathering our items that we needed to sign something. Okay .. he hands us the receipt and I sign it and leave a substantial cash tip for three glasses of wine and we leave. Then he chases us to our hotel room and angrily tells us that we need to FILL OUT the receipt or else he can't charge us. I'm just appalled that he chased us to our room (so obviously knew our room number) and yelled at us twice. Leave the receipt at the front desk? Ask the front desk to call us to come back down? I don't know it was aggressive and frankly inappropriate behavior all around.
