We love Monks Kettle! We were very sad when it moved out of SF, but happy to have found it alive and well in the East Bay! Enjoyed the music choices, too. And very grateful for the late-night menu, thank you!
Good burger with double patties. Especially liked the bread and butter pickles- not overly sweet. Grilled onions would've been a nice option. Mixed green salad with kale that came with the burger was very excellent. Skip the pork rinds with guacamole starter. Weird combo and the pork rinds quickly became soggy
We enjoyed the many beers to choose from and the flights available. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. Our first time there and we will go back. Sign up for the newsletter and follow them on instagram.
I keep coming back because the food is solidly good & not astronomically priced. Each time I've sat on the back patio, I've had no trouble hearing the other people at my table.
My first time at Monks. Service and food was good. Nice neighborhood vibe. Beer selection was outstanding.
Remember this from its former life as Citron. They have done a great job updating the space and making a restaurant that works for today. Garden is lovely, Great beer selection, and there is an extremely knowledgeable beer sommelier who can provide guidance. Food is very good, made from local fresh ingredients, yet simple enough to be excellent without being too fancy. Staff is very attentive, and service is excellent, Overall a great experience, and love to see this old space come alive again.
My guest and I shared the Ahi Tuna Nicoise which was good but highly under seasoned and the potatoes were not fully cooked. The tuna was high quality and delicious. We both also had the Steak & Fries perfectly cooked medium rare beautifully seasoned and very delicious. We also had a glass of Chardonnay with first course salad which was just okay and a Zinfandel with the entree also just okay. Our waiter was very pleasant and gave great service. I would recommend this place
My party of 8 had a great lunch experience. The food just as good as the great reviews I read and the service was outstanding.
So glad they moved to the east Bay. I love them in San Francisco and I love them more in Oakland. This is perhaps the best burger you will taste.
Creative, fun, mushroom toast was terrific. The lamb burger was delicious. Huge list of beers on tap. Cocktails in cans The portions are big!

Our new favorite neighborhood spot. Low-key vibe mixed with amazing quality all around, from the service to drinks to the food.
The beer list was fantastic and the server we had initially helped me choose one that I really loved. I ordered the ahi crusted nicoise and it was so delicious! I would go back again - and probably order the same thing!
We celebrated another couple's anniversary there, and it was fantastic. Their beer selection was wonderful, and so was their food. Thanks for making it a great evening for all of us!
Great food, good drinks, amazing service, nice atmosphere. We've been here 3 times, it's consistently solid.
Fantastic and BEAUTIFUL food made with fresh ingredients and gorgeously plated. Not pretentious at all - the services was genuinely warm and we especially loved the quiet outdoor patio. Also, we appreciate them being so dog friendly!
