A Hidden Gem in the Heart of San Francisco – The Mortimer**

Tucked inside the elegant Hotel Adagio, The Mortimer is an absolute treasure for those seeking an exceptional dining experience away from the hustle and bustle of Union Square. From the moment you step inside, you are enveloped in an atmosphere of warmth and sophistication—an exquisite blend of modern charm and classic refinement.

The service here is truly unparalleled. The staff’s attentiveness and genuine hospitality elevate the experience, making every guest feel valued and cared for. It’s rare to find service that is both professional and deeply personable, yet The Mortimer executes this effortlessly.

And then, there’s the food. Every dish is crafted from scratch, ensuring freshness, precision, and remarkable flavors that delight the senses. The culinary artistry shines in every bite, and my experience with the crabcakes was nothing short of extraordinary. Perfectly crisp on the outside, tender and flavorful within—these were some of the best crabcakes I’ve ever had, anywhere in the world. Every ingredient tasted impeccably fresh, harmonizing beautifully to create a dish that was simply unforgettable.

For anyone looking to unwind in a serene setting, accompanied by world-class cuisine and outstanding service, The Mortimer is the perfect escape. Whether you're a local or visiting the city, I wholeheartedly recommend treating yourself to an experience here—you won’t regret it!

Everything is great at the Mortimer and I frequent this place as a local.

Only thing is if you pay for food and drinks with a debit card they put an authorization for $60 against your bank account in addition to taking the money to pay for the meal. While they got paid they are still holding the $60 authorization for 10 days now. Impossible to reach on the phone. I'll think twice about coming here again.

Mice little bar in the hotel Adagio. We stopped in for cocktails and a snack. The garlic fries were crisp and garlicky.
Service was prompt and pleasant. We'll stop on daily for our entire stay.

Very disappointing; while the staff were friendly, that didn't translate into a good dining experience. I decided to get dinner at my hotel after an exhausting day of work travel. I asked what appetizer was quick since I was very hungry. I got the deviled eggs and asked for a minute to consider my entree order. I gave up and left after waiting 45 minutes for him to return to take my dinner order. The eggs were overdone and not to my taste. They need more staff during peak times.
