We had an exceptional lunch experience at this absolute gem of a restaurant. From the zucchini cakes to the hummus to the grilled octopus to the dolmathes to the Souvlaki sandwiches, everything we ordered was downright delicious! Flavors were distinctive and so flavorful. Although we sampled multiple dishes, they were all prepared in a way that it felt like a light meal. The server was friendly, timely, and helpful. The manager was attentive and checked in on us as well. The atmosphere is cozy and we were comfortable. I highly recommend. Yes. GOOOO!!
This restaurant changed my reservation time without contacting me, then claimed I was a no-show and canceled it, even though I was 10 minutes early for the time I was booked with a confirmation. They clearly were trying to squeeze in more seatings and should've been walk in only if they will not honor reservations .
My biggest gripe is that during the middle of our meal another person on the waitstaff that wasn't our server asked us to move tables to attempt to accommodate a party of five. That was so disrespectful
Overall, we enjoyed our dinner here. The musaka, unfortunately, was not heated properly leaving portions of the bachemal undercooked and some of the eggplant and ground meat cold. This should not happen. Otherwise, the food was delicious. We enjoyed the salad with beets, the poached pear dessert was nice, and our server did her best under the circumstances. We will return.
Arrived 45 min early for our lunch reservation so we beat the rush. Food was fast, fresh, and flavorful. I often find chicken souvlaki is dry at most restaurants - not the case here, moist and full of flavor. The saganaki was excellent and just like I remember from our trip to the Greek island of Skiathos.
Great food and great service. Had dinner before a concert at the Masonic and the service was prompt and efficient in addition to being friendly.
Great food and great atmosphere! This was my second time at this restaurant and will be back for sure.
It was ok. We had lunch menu. Food is tasty for the most part. Among our orders we had a plate of vegetables which clearly were frozen before and just microwaved as some were warm and others cold. The service wasn't as good. Tables are small and our waitress decided to bring all our food (appetizers, drinks and entrees) at the same time. It was uncomfortable not having space to eat and of course the entree was a bit cold by the time we ate it.
The place was loud and noisy, but not in a terrible way. They made it fun and while not my cup of tea, people were generally having a good time. My main sticking point with the place was the quality of the food. The food was very dry and felt reheated across the board. We ordered the burgers for the kids and the patty was well past well. We got the seabass, and while it was fine, it wasn't worth the price tag. We also got the octopus which was ok but nothing to get excited about. The beef kabobs were pretty good. I'd stick with the souvlaki if you are headed here.
We came for a pre-theatre meal. Despite being seated at a smash table with uncomfortable chairs in the bar when there were lots of regular tables available, the service was outstanding, lots of veg and gf options and a knowledgeable server, and the food came out fast. It was delicious! We'd definitely eat here again!

The Parthenon was excellent! Not only was the food and service excellent, it was a Saturday night and had live, authentic music and there was a celebration with enthusiastic plates breaking and confetti. Living in the Sierras, we just don't have anything that compares. My favorite was the owner asking how everything was, and thanking us for dining with them. It really was an added bonus that he took the time. I can't recommend the Parthenon enough!
Food was good though lamb chops didn't warrant the price. A 20% tip was automatically added to our bill for a table of 3 w/o any disclosure until we got the bill and our server was subpar.
This place is amazing. I highly recommend both for locals and the visitors. The food was authentic and the service was first class. I went on a weekend and there was live music. It's a great spot both for groups and for a date night at the heart of San Francisco.

We just got back from a weekend visit to San Francisco and had the joy of eating at the Parthenon. The salmon was cooked to perfection, and the sauce was creamy, delicious, and when paired with the salmon, every bite melted in your mouth. The steak skewers were also exeptional. As a steak lover, I typically just prefer to eat my steak as a 1 - 1 1/2 thick cut, but the skewers turned out to be amazing. The steak was a perfect medium rare, seasoned just right, and for a top sirloin steak they were shockingly tender! What caught me off guard the most however, was the spinach under the salmon. I don't remember the last time I enjoyed eating spinach, but the spinach was the best I've ever had. I don't know why exactly (maybe it was the sauce from the salmon that got mixed in), but I would always eat my veggies if I had that spinach to fall back on!
The service was warm and attentive, the servers were always coming back to fill waters as needed, and we never felt out of place!
The next time we visit San Francisco, we will be looking forward to returning to the Parthenon to try some of their other items on the menu!
