Hotel is an historic property and very nice. The regular guest rooms are small. I was disapointed that when I got to my room, the paint was peeling off the ceiling from what looks like a water leak. Also high dusting is not being done regularly as shelves, frames, etc in the room are dusty. Be careful when placing your whites on the shelves in the closet. Managemet offered to change my room however, I was already unpacked and tired from my travels so I stayed in the room.
My family and I come here every year and we brought grandparents and relatives as well. My kid dubbed the Fairmont as the gingerbread hotel because of the life-size gingerbread house.
The hotel start baking for in July and assemble the week of Thanksgiving. If you want to walk through the gingerbread house you need to come after Thanksgiving.
If you want to take pictures without getting photo bombed by a crowd, do it in the evening. The night staff is kind and...
This was a truly luxury experience. From the staff that checked us in to the amenities and the views from our room every part of the stay was a 10/10 experience. Family friendly, great part of town, worth the expense if you're up to it.
