Lovely surprise! You never know what to expect from a hotel lobby bar but this place really delivered on flavours. The cucumber and prosciutto salad was magic on a plate. We paired it with ahi tuna and prosciutto flatbread, both of which were excellent. Service the couple of times we went was inconsistent but still worth checking out. Be sure to head to the rooftop bar (Starlight Room) for cocktails afterward. Fabulous up there.

Great food, comfortable atmosphere, and exceptional service! Every single staff member was attentive, genuinely friendly, and graciously welcoming. A special shoutout to Tessa!! Thank you for a wonderful experience and a great meal!

Think they're still working out the kinks.... Kids menu is a great offering; pasta portion was that of a full grown adult and came out very fast. Everything else for the adults was inconsistent - entree portions were small, two orders of lobster ravioli came out 30min apart, and the two orders of branzino were fired up secondary to the rest of our orders and came out so late that we waited nearly half hour and managed to order extra side of fries while waiting; even the single order of ice tea arrive half way into our meal even though ordered before the cocktails. Will wait a bit to return so staff and service can improve their process; otherwise decor was beautiful and good spot to be if you have plenty of time to lounge and wait.

Unexpected gem of a restaurant in a beautifully restored historic hotel. Food was very good across our entire group, setting was beautiful, service was very attentive. I really enjoyed and will keep on my fav list for future visits to SF

I was pleasantly surprised. Fresh baked bread, terrific avocado salad, and wonderful trumpet risotto. We also ordered the fried portobello mushrooms and those were over the top. I would definitely go back, the food was great, and was not over priced which was surprising given its location.

Visit this restaurant for history of the hotel and ambiance of the venue but not so much the food. The oysters were not fresh. The cannelloni was bland. The chicken was good though.

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely Prix fixe meal on St. Valentine's Day. Wonderful combination of flavors, inventive dishes without bring funky or heavy handed. Terrific service and decent wine list. Experience further enhanced by piano bar in background. Would definitely return.

Sadly our food was very late and not good. The salmon was oily and came as a filet vs what was described as smoked salmon. The lobster Benedict came with shells in it and had no flavor. Hopefully it will improve as time goes on.

food was cooked very well. There was nothing we would have changed. The cost was comparable to the price of the hotel and the hotel/restaurant was beautiful, they did a good job of keeping and emphasizing the historic charm. Perfect dinner for the first night at the hotel.

Overall the food is good, but the service needs to get better to match the prices they charge. The food was generally well cooked and while not excellent, it was consistently nicely done, minus a few basic errors (like leaving the starter under the hot lamp too long so a skin formed on the Romesco). The service let this experience down. The female waitress we had (Benedith?) was excellent and very well trained, but the other male members of staff significantly less though. Our waiter (Danill) made a series of screw ups from having no idea what cut of steak was being served, through to clearing my partner's plate while I was still eating, and messing up our drinks order twice. At one point, we saw the barman (who was pretty loud) casually drag a loaded bin across the dining room floor to empty it while we were eating which didn't seem professional.
